Holding Penalties

Are holding penalties affected by a player being "out of position"?
My teams have always had the most, or at least are in the top 10, of penalties committed in every league that I've been in. But lately I've noticed a decided uptick in the number of holding penalties my teams have been called for. Even more holding penalties than v.3.2. So I wonder if this is a partial result of the current pass blocking code.

No, holding is mostly a function of discipline with a small dose of fatigue and experience.

How about playbook? Do longer plays mean more opportunity for holds? It's no secret that I run pass-heavy game plans and I feel like I'm always up there in terms of penalties against.

Most of mine are coming on short passes after the completion.
