QB Accuracy Updates
by jdavidbakr (Site Admin) @ 3/02/2017 9:04 am
I'm pushing into MFN-1 the QB accuracy updates. This update greatly increases the impact of both the QB accuracy and arm strength in the algorithms, both in the completion rate as well as the interception rate. Of course, pressure on the QB will continue to influence the accuracy, and of course the attributes of the WR and DB will continue to have a strong impact as well, so if you have a high accuracy QB who is still underperforming there are those other factors at play. But we should see a decrease in overperforming QBs. (Great WRs and OL will still likely improve your QB but not as much as it has previously)

This may be anecdotal (and based off the old engine), but I've noticed that my strong arm QBs have a tendency on deep throws (most especially go routes) to bounce the ball off the trailing DB, even when the WR has a several yard lead. My weaker armed QBs however are much more consistent dropping the ball onto the open WR. I was just thinking that this may have something to do with the throw trajectory. Weaker armed QBs will have a higher arc, thus placing it over the DB more effectively. Like I said, this may be just my own anecdotal paranoia, but I thought I'd at least mention it as a thought that might help explain why so many teams are able to succeed using deep-throw gameplans with weak-armed QBs.

I have noted the speed at which players travel in comparison to ball speed might have something to do with this. Enhancing the value of punish/ courage and demise in the values of cover skills.

Also, perhaps where a pass is incomplete is random. Too Short, too deep, ahead, and behind might not be the same as its better to over throw a deep ball so it does get picked.
