* Hoping to see an increase in sacks, especially by DE's, and a reduction of DT sacks.
* Knock-downs should return. As always, please share your observations. |

NYA had its highest sack total of the season this week with 8 sacks this game. 7 came from DEs and 1 from DT...I would say it worked
And yes, knockdowns are registering again. Thanks!

I could not sack Lane from Cincinnati . Good to him enough to force incomplete passes. On the other hand, Perfect looking Shelton is back to his old self throwing ints and behind the wr after horrid reads....Cincinnati couldn't sack him either!
LBS and Dbs were running the wrong way in pursuit of the ball carrier alot. Vs 3 wr sets , defensive sets are clueless in positionAL alignment . My right DE had 8 tackles on weak runs, cause he's the only guy around. Running these set held my MLB to 2 tackles. He should line up head up on the C to balance and increase pursuit angles with the the wlb outside shoulder the right end.

A found a minor logical problem with how LBs move laterally on running plays: https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/gamecenter/view/6114#1100263
Watch Beers who has 100 SP against the 65 SP RB. 1) Beers moves laterally as expected. 2) When the RB hits the LOS, Beers changes his pursuit angle so that he can make the tackle 3) Makes the tackle This is all good compared to what we saw before. However, here's the rub. The play was 3-2 and the opposing team got the first down. Beers has a chance to pursue up field and meet the RB at the LOS, but he doesn't. At the same time, I'm not all that broken up about it. In the old code, Beers would have moved up field immediately and gotten eaten by the OL. Moving laterally he clears the OL and is in position to make the tackle. I'm not sure how difficult it would be, but it would be interesting if LBs made a decision to pursue upfield once they had a clear pursuit angle upfield. But I don't know how that logic would work out. |
