How do I determine how many down linemen I'm using in my gameplan. For instance, if I want to run more 4-3, than 3-4, how is that determined?

Am I just going off the red figures on the defensive play calling screen?

Top two DTs are the starters in the 4-3.

In the 3-4 the top 2 MLBs are the starters.

All the play books have a mix of 3-4 and 4-3 but your head coach will have one favored over the other. Look at your HC card and see what his defensive style is to see.
