I'm hoping JDB will provide some details about the changes he is planning to make to both the draft process (obfuscation/scouting/etc.) and the draft pool before the trade deadline passes.
I have a ton of picks next year, and if it's going to be basically the same thing as last season I'd rather skip the draft again.

Right now I'm not planning to change anything with the obfuscation, but players generated with lower attributes will have a more random value for non-learned attributes.
A player's general overall value is generated, then all attributes are generated around that value for the future values, with the exception of a few attributes (like kick holding for QBs and punters, which are uniformly distributed regardless of the overall attribute). The change is that the non-learned attributes will be generated uniformly between the overall value and 100. If the attributes are still too low, I may push the values a bit more toward 100, but that would be after this upcoming draft class.

Too bad about the obfuscation. I'm not a fan of that at all.
I guess I must be missing something obvious about the new player pool. I don't see how this is going to have anything more than a very minimal impact on anything, if that.
Are you creating draft classes beforehand to see what impact your changes are making, or will the 2035 class be the first time you're seeing it as well?

+1 on all of these.
The obfuscation was a fun experiment, but it should be stricken.
I also don't see any meaningful discussion here about how non-improvable attributes will be effected in the draft. Specifically, I'm not seeing a discussion on how the bell curve will be moved in terms of generation of those attributes. For instance, here's what I think the bell curve for key attributes for key positions should be:
SP 75 - RB, FB, TE, WR, LB, DB ST 75 - OL, DL, LB IN 75 - QB
EDIT: Using 75 here to represent the range of 70-80 with 10% of players being above 80 and 10% being below 70. For RBs and DBs, the bell curve should probably be 75-85 or even 80-90, but even getting it to 70-80 would help.
Are you running draft classes on the test bench? Or are we going to be testing the draft in the dark?
How the draft is at the minute,I think it is imposible to build a contending team through the draft, which must be what every player on here would love to do,turn a 2-14 team into a 14-2 Championship team through drafting.
ATL ( ktitusteam ) did it this last off -season,got lots of picks ( 5 x 1st rounders) ,none on them worked out.
He quit !
I still dont understand why I should spend a couple of hours searching through players I think might be good, scout them, only for every other team to see who I scouted and pick them before I can...what am I missing here ?
I know for some the draft is the best part of playing any sports GM management game, how the draft is at the minute, this will be the worse part of the MFN experience in my humble opinion.
Keep up the good work JDB.
This all came about because a few GM`s wanted a Tom Brady kind of senario, low pick to GOAT player.
How many Tom Brady type players has the NFL had in the recent past...not many.

He still plays in several leagues.

Is this a sim or a game we are just trying to make stuff fit ?
Drafting with the current obfuscation is still easier than the nfl....by far. The only thing that is not is how the rookies salary is distributed . If it were correct these nonsense gambles would not have been taken in the first place, because there is a little gamble under the old method and guys still try to pick the same way but lost.
I don't see the argument here. No data....just opinions . There are clear drafting strategiesthat work here and they are not too related to actuall football . So, how could it work in the first place, Looking at the bigger picture is the way to go. Not isolating four drafts and comparing them to 100 s of old drafts .
I want tougher drafts to help against that one guy who garnered several top ten picks. That happens less than the chance of a tom brady . Never
Once again , the only current changes i want is players speed and strength actually fall in the physical parameters that is laid out in this game already. Guys are too slow and weak. That's fix is simple.

Since we're now at the halfway point, I thought I'd ask if we're going to see any changes this season or if everything is going to wait until next season.

It may not be until next season (with the exception of the draft class updates). I'm going to try not to do anything too close to the postseason.
