I think it's definitely part of it. I think the bigger culprit is wobbly passes, but I'm hoping that just goes away at least for a few games so that we can get a more isolated look at passing.

The 'wobbly passing' text was added when the calculated accuracy is below a threshold. I wanted to (1) give feedback that the drop was probably more likely because of the pass accuracy than the catching skill, and (2) bubble up indications of poorly passed *****.
One thing that might help is identifying plays where this text shows up that the QB was not under pressure and has a good pass accuracy skill. It's possible that part of the completion issues are because the accuracy is being calculated too low. |

The engine seems a lot better. Here's a couple of good examples with one bad play or really just the text didn't match the play. And that happened a few times but I could only find the one atm. But all in all you could see the QB's going through their progressions when they had time and checking down at times.
I think that the text play calls could be more generic and sometimes not needed. When a QB has been pressured we already know why the QB made a bad throw. And for example instead of saying a wobbly pass maybe just say the QB made a bad pass to generalize it. That kinda covers a wider range and leaves less room for question. Just one example. Below are a couple of examples on a play working as should and a play working as should but text didnt match or made me question it. Result: Int (worked as should) Play: O = singleback empty 4 : slot crosses : medium pass D = dime normal : LB blitz : sec 1 deep man Fam = O: 45% D: 51% QB throws the ball long into double coverage and the safety got there in time to pick it off. https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7824#1414008 ************************************************************************************************* Result: TD (text didn't match the play) Play: O = Singleback Big : waggle post : long pass D = 4-3 under : LB blitz 2 : sec 3 deep zone Fam = O: 31% D: 21% QB finds WR with one on one situation in zone coverage with the CB having two receivers in his zone. But text says "The ball was not released cleanly". It appeared to be a strike in 2D. https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/watch/7824#1414151

It looks like the INTs are up again. 8 combined in my game, and multiple games with 6 or 7.

At least one of mine was the result of bad ball placement, which I thought was caused by the WR stuttering, but I slowed the film way down and can't tell: https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1533#280797 Also, at least two of mine were game planning related. The QB decision making being so much faster makes this play pretty useless when your opponent is in M2M because of how the crossing routes work: https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1533#280695

A lot of INTs are thrown into coverage after questionable reads.
https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1537#281365 Not terrible, but a real gamble though. By the way, Craig is a 76sp/100M2M CB. A terrible read on the very next play https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1537#281366 Bad read. https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1537#281397 https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1537#281423 The throw looks behind the WR https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1537#281442 Not an INT but what a TERRIBLE read https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1537#281464 Great defensive play https://beta87.myfootballnow.com/watch/1537#281531 This is just a sample. Overall it looks like the QB play, and/or the WRs, are behind the defense in term of quality of play. |

I'm at work, and won't have time to look until late tonight, how many of the above plays are crossing routes?
One thing I noticed was that the QB appears to be throwing the ball to the point where the receivers cross in a crossing route instead of allowing the WRs to break out of the cross. This defeats the purpose of the route since crossing routes are designed to rub off a defender. |

Most things look a lot better, but interceptions still seem high. It looks like DBs are intercepting more passes that they would have knocked away in the past.
Because DBs are playing closer to WRs now, they have a lot more opportunities to intercept passes. DBs should be playing closer, but they should be knocking away more passes than they are. The league leader has 9 KDs and 9 INTs; number two has 6 KDs and 8 INTs. The league interception leader has 10 INTs to 3 KDs: https://mfn1.myfootballnow.com/player/11959 That INT leader has 16 catch to 89 functional punish. So it's really hard to match a player's attributes to his stats.

I tweaked the knock down logic a bit, at the very least we should start to see more knockdown stats.
