Heres another qb scramble /run. This is vs. an abused defensive play , so the lowering of skills allowed the two broken tackles by the qb. Still, the Oline looked clueless on the scramble , but at least they drifted play side to block again once the qb crossed the LOS.

Same for defenders . ..again in zone, they wait for the qb to reach the line of scrimage before pursuing him. The LBers should have drifted play side a bit more and perhaps closed in on the qb on his approach to the LOS.

More active Olinemen would enable further scrambles. Those two dline should have been blocked again by an O lineman , freeing that corner for a big gain.

These two plays, which still seem rare and possibly tied to zone coverage schemes , really show how flawed that part of the game is. With end route senerios being what they are this whole part of football is not here yet .

Yes, they ran but it's ugly , and it would rarely happen like that in real life . My big question is where are all the other passes that turn in to broken plays for possible alternate yards ? Something besides what i see.....the play design and a forced throw before taking that easy yards the defense is giving up.

If qbs were opened back up again they would lead the league in yard per carry...that's kinda where we left off before they were nerfed . Still, the longer reads seemed to add these two senerios back in. As they seem to be the only two out of hundreds of passes this first game .

Since the Minnesota - Cleveland game was mentioned...

I am running some wonky gameplans right now... Basically full in on long pass offense, and 3 / 4 deep secondary with constant blitz on defense.

Trying to see how exploitable the long game is while trying to prevent the same and keeping the QB under constant pressure.

That's my main issue. The 1000 yards and 80+ points scored. It's funny, I doubled-down on LPs (added some new ones and increased percentage across the gameplan), and we played the first pre-season against each other.

That's how qbs are scrambling again. I saw one like this not so bad, but it was a scramble for a sack. On the other hand that rollout play resulted in one sack, one incomplete pass, aND one run for a significant gain.

At least qbs are scrambling some under this code but it clearly needs adjustments . Your play had some options open for a throw, and I am seeing some of the same plays still not throwing to wide open drag routes underneath .

I'll be bringing the punt block exploit on every punt. Adjust accordingly or not at all. We're gonna see if we can't get to the root of this thing.

Fastest player at the right/top wing rusher.

According to TarquinTheDark's post, it is the Right Wing/Left Wing Rusher, that are responsible for blocking punts. Most commonly the Right Wing.

According to Game Film it is the RE & LE positions on the diagram, that get to the punter & make the block.

My goal is to discover which line up is correct & what are the necessary attributes to minimize this occurrence. While testing this, I will be relaying the results to JDB & offering my opinion on the circumstances of each play, including which Player Attributes appear to be most important to each player.

I have had some limited success with the ends when used in conjunction with the wing rushers. We can try a bunch of different combinations.
