Both plays were not overused, but this was later in the game. The FB was the primary but the wr2 was the target . The zone was designed to cover the depper middle of the feild and the offensive play was designed to expose the outside , but for some reason the qb made the read to the inside into triple coverage . The fb didn't get into his route and the wr1 was wide open....why read the wr2 here?

In general this is how I see outside reads...they just aren't there at the right times. The fb would have been a good option too if the qb waited another second . It's kinda like qbs read the inside of the feild first , then go outside but never check the inside again.

If you keep inside reads short the outside does have better chances to open up for a good second read, but sending your inside reads deeper won't always open up the middle for a later read. The qb will go outside to rbs and TEs here, but never back into the middle as a second read for a dragging wr.

I think the opposite happened here.... there were no short inside reads early in the play and the qb just rushed a throw back the other way to the wr2. Why read the fb then the wr1? At least they are in the same direction . ..and open. Did he need more time?, because by then the wr1 could be covered and the FB would have been open .

If qbs ran and made good throws I think the offense would be over powered cause a lot of passes are in tight windows . What ever the result is... a catch over , knockdowns , or int

I see about one of those a game. A simple roll out and throwaway would solve it.

I keep this play in my book only to see if the qb will ever target the wr1. He did once vs a zone blitz , but here vs. A man under the wr1 was the only viable option for a 6 to 9 yards gain. Instead a forced pass to the rb and an int.

Then a FG for the win .....not the best way to lose a game. Normally I wouldn't run the play , simple, but it should work! Similar ones out of different sets don't work either, but they should.

Too add another layer . Pass blocking is rough . By 2 seconds almost any one if not three olinemen are bound to be beat. Whether it was strength , pass rush, or speed/acc. When the Oline lose the block they " Olay " the pass rusher like a matador .

The problem here is there's no pocket, no ability for the qb to step up . ...there only hope once a block is lost it to roll out.

I would really like some layers added to pass blocking . The faster guys are moving when they engage should allow for more movement within the blocks while they are engaged . Causing more spacing/passing lanes and places for the qb to buy some time.

This is in 4.5 code, but it's worth calling out. What does the CB do here? https://usflwfl.myfootballnow.com/watch/4036#739792

Another slant route that results in a TD?

I was referring to at the snap. It's like the CB doesn't know who to cover.

I think he's losing his footing because of the juke move by the WR (based on the play-by-play, when you see the 'great move' text it means that the DB's path was altered because of the WR move).

Here in the wild round of the playoffs there was 5 sacks and 11 hurries in 400 pass attempts . That's .8 sacks per game per team. Kinda low rates there, buts what's really low is the pressures . In the nfl A. Donald gets one every 9 snaps, him alone probably gets there near a quarter of the pass attempts . We as a whole, 4 games , eight teams, get pressures at a rate of .25% of pass snaps. That is 400 times lower than Donalds rate.

I wish we had qb hits as well. Two different levels or types of pressure . Hits would be rarer and be more hit or miss if thrown . The play of 4.6 isn't the worst , but the stats particularly , ints , knockdowns, pressures, qb run yards, completion % , punt attempts /Fg attempts and sacks , in general are pretty far off.
