I am not sure what the fix needs to be, but the missed tackles and dragging defenders looks worse and completely unrealistic. Feels like I am watching Tecmo Bowl!

I think it looks more realistic. Seeing your RB stop as soon as their icon touches a defender's icon looks unrealistic to me.
