2022 Draft
by Tecra031 @ 4/09/2015 9:38 am
Was looking over the draft class and noticed it looks incredibly weak again. Only 10 players
(not including the **** super kickers in every draft) rated 80+ future, and of those only 2 are 90+. I understand the whole development and boom/bust principles, but in a typical NFL draft, at least the top 10 are considered to studs and the rest of RD 1 are still top talent. In the draft, assuming the 80+ go 1-10, then 22 1st RD picks will be players rated 70s and possibly 60s. Doesn't make much sense.

While I am not saying to generate a ton of 90+ players, but there should be at least 5-10 90+ players (reflecting top 5-10 talent) and considerably more 80+ to fill the 1st RD at least. The drafts are continually weak, therefore creating the ridiculous feeding frenzy at free agency with crazy contracts for old players.

Just my 2 cents.

I feel the same way.

Hopefully the changes that have been made to the new game engine will address some of this, but I'm not holding my breath.

is it possible for a 60 rated player in the draft to become a 90 rated player in his career?

I ask this because russell wilson and richard sherman have surely done this in real life.

GO HAWKS :)

Yes it is, but it is rare.

Here's my poster child player for that:

I'm going to play with the standard deviation a bit and see what happens.

yeah i think washington is a prime example where the coaches and especially the owner should massively enhance a players ability.

are any hints to possible deviations available by looking at the different attributes closely or is it a bit of luck and coaching?

I took a look at the Draft class, wasn't too shocked until I searched for cornerback... there is a scarce amount of corners in this draft, when really DT and CB positions in real life have the most depth in drafts. Plus there is only 1 CB with a future rating of 75+.

I think that in the next draft, there needs to be more of an abundance of Cornerbacks.

Just my 2 cents (literally, I have 2 cents)

Outside of the late 3rd round, I'm really not a fan of these 7 rounders.
