The biggest issue I see with this is containment. Punt gunners, Defensive ends, and anyone closing in on the ball carrier. None of them follow simple containment rules. they should never cross the line of the ball carrier. They should close while staying on a angle to the outside shoulder. The only way they should fail at this is if they are physically outmatched and surprised or looking to get cut from every high school team that teaches this.

Or if it's a short punt. Plenty of times you see a defender run past the return man expecting the punt to travel further.

I would like to see some blocked punts, but before that why not have the gunner depth chart fill in more positions on the punt team. Currently the STs blocking depth chart fills out both Gs both Ts and the up TEs. I wish those guys were set up similar to the kickoff team. Have the punt team use 9 gunners.
Currently you can use overrides to achieve this but when stamina takes its toll, automatically my STs blocking unit steps in. And that 13 speed player in now a liability in the defensive return game. If the game automatically used gunners instead in theory a more reliable player would be subbed in for fatigue reasons. If you depth chart is set deep.

Was seeing hang time in my game.
You are also not taking into account that these are not NFL rosters that can throw out gunners who can run 4.3 or 4.4 40 yard dash times. These gunners might be closer to 5.0 or more on avg. so thats why your not seeing more FC. Sorry but I think the problem is to many punts are being returned. Has to be a way to increase the amount of FC punts. Hang time would be the easiest way to do this IMO.
My Punt Returner just had 2 TD's on PR and I dont consider him a big play punt returner.
hmmm, I had 2 punt returns for TDs against me...not sure what the update was :)

Definitely just using default lineups and a rookie PR. He's torn it up all preseason and has skills to PR, but what if I used guys with blocking? As for stopping the punt defaults did ok that game.
Across the league the punters net has been better. Well at least half of it. Those punters have either 90 plus in accuracy, power or both. Three were not. Denvers punter had 94 holding as did KCs(93) but they had other numbers in the 80s. The other was a young guy who is going to be good. Still very effective punt stats in a small sample.
To throw it all out the window. Minnesota, whether on purpose or not did this method that i have not used in a while. Use a LB to punt.
Low skills seems to line drive it short keep the PRer in front while making less of a gap and a better shot at the missed tackled by the punter. His gross to net is like 7 yards. Tops the league there with line drive pooch punts.
On another note, in a close game I saw a punter punt away from a return man. Not sure if it were coded or random.

Just by going on how it actually looks in the game viewer,it looks so much more lifelike.
The Punter pauses, even steps foward a yard, and punts, before it just came to him and kinda bounced off him for 40 plus yards, now you can "see" him catch it ,step foward and kick it.
On a return I had my returner kinda spin around, miss the flight of the ball, take a few steps to catch and keep his feet under himself, and then turn around and head upfield,(or so it looked like to me)so lifelike.
