New Stats!

I'm very excited about the new stat listing throughout the site. Here are some of the features:

  • League home page now lists the same stat listing as we see elsewhere (team and player page)

  • All stat listings now include "all time" for the year

  • All stat listings are sortable by any of the columns

  • New pagination for stats (if they are long enough) - also this new pagination has been applied to the player search results, and anywhere else that there was a multi-page table.


Let me know if anyone sees any apparent errors in the stats.

I'm liking those additions. Can get lost for hours now in stats ...lol.

One thing I see is the team stats do not have "All Time" in the year drop down. Are the team stats going to just be added from year to year? I would think it would be better to have them like the player stats.

I didn't make any changes to the team stats, missed the all-time option so I'll have to add that. Does that work for you guys in its current state, or would you like to see it displayed differently, more like the player stat table?

I like the way it is now for the league player stats with the drop down menu, cause it gives a longer list. For the team player stats I like it the way it is now. That's my vote :)

Something I noticed within League Home/Team Stats/Turnover Margin (drop menu).

The turnover margin stats are just including interceptions, fumble takeway/giveaway should be included.

The margin is backwards, for example my team has a turnover margin of 15. We threw 35 INT's and our D intercepted 20, so our turnover margin should be -15. I am saying this is backwards because of how it is portrayed when looking at NFL stats (for example ESPN at this link http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/givetake).

Turnover margin calculation should be fixed, it will reset itself after tonight's sim.

Sweet.

Btw, there's an oddity where, if teams are tied in one category, the rankings will shrink. For example, look at team sacks. The team with the fewest sacks, Jacksonville, is listed as the 18th worse.

Hm, you might be right, I need to look to see how it's supposed to be displayed. Right now you're right, if two teams are tied in 1st place then the next team will be in 2nd place rather than no one being in 2nd place and the next team holding 3rd place.

I was just looking at this and I think it is displayed correctly, for 1 your eye can quickly see who's tied. I haven't looked yet but it seems to me when I've been on sites looking at stats for the real NFL it will show it this way.
