Defensively, Buffalo’s 5 sacks combined with two interceptions painted a picture of dominance and disruption. The defense proved relentless, stifling Chicago’s offense and forcing turnovers at pivotal moments. Chicago’s QB Rudy Cothern struggled under incessant pressure, coughing up three interceptions and managing just 124 passing yards with a single touchdown. Chicago’s lone bright spot was Ryan Ward’s short 11-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, but it was a rare spark in an otherwise dismal offensive showing. The Bears, eliminated from playoff contention, looked outmatched and outclassed from start to finish.

The game was also notable for the special teams performance, with Buffalo’s Figaro converting both field goal attempts, including a critical 17-yarder in the second quarter that extended the lead to 10-0.
