Best undrafted players

I've got a player on one of my teams who is a **** good DB, and I just recently realized when looking at his player page that we was UNDRAFTED. His current rating for my team is 79/85 at CB. . . I couldn't believe that he wasn't picked. He projects well as a safety too.

When you pull up his player details he has From Start: +48/+28. Which would've put him at a max potential of 57 when he came into the league. . I find it amazing that he made such a huge improvement.

Has anybody ever seen anything like this? Have you ever heard of another un-drafted player making such a big leap in ability?

dam thats pretty nice. my best surprising player... found it in the FA last season. was drafted by another team and cut. I saw the potentiel and moved him from CB to FS where his skills fit best.

hes now
+38/+25
so his potentiel was 54..
hes now a 70/79 FS

but nothing like your guy lol

Closest player I've ever gotten was http://cust21.myfootballnow.com/player/2991 +35/+21. Also a CB who only allowed 34% passes against him to be completed.

Not bad! It was just the biggest jump I've seen by a player, by far lol.

Team: New York Mohawks
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 191 (average)
Age: 27
Experience: 6
Rating: 75/75 (35/54 as a rookie)
From Start: +40/+21
This Season: +0/+0
College: Eastern Kentucky
Draft: Undrafted
Retire Prob: < 1%

I think generally the best undrafted players are from the secondary, that said I've had some nice RBs and WRs that are killer on STs.
I have a DT that went undrafted who is now a stud, I've either traded him or he's retired as hes now awol ha ha

I wouldn't put too much faith in the passes against numbers.

Have you noticed that when the QB throws the ball away, it still says "intended for ....". That probably counts as a pass defended for the DB also.

A lot of the actual stats in this game are not very reliable (missed tackles, INTs, etc.).

Yeah, I seemed to notice the same thing. Also, something to think about is that when passes are completed against zone coverage, I'm pretty sure it counts against somebody.. Pretty sure if those count against DBs, or any players, that they can't be recorded accurately. Not to say I even seen anybody run effective zone coverage on a regular basis lol.

For example, a WR runs a crossing route through a hook zone where a LB is covering, and as he passes through the LBs zone the pass is thrown, by the time the WR makes the catch he may be in a zone where a DB is covering. . that likely counts against the DB, but is the LBs fault for not stepping up in coverage IMO.
