I am over the cap limit and I'm trying to clear some space by trading in Cust-17. The trade won't go through because it will put one player (me) over the cap. Trying to avoid making cuts. Can I not clear some space by trading?

Which interface are you in? The new interface should allow you to propose a trade during free agency even if you will go over the cap because of it (or, as in your case, are already over the cap). I don't recall whether that was something added in the new interface or not.
