Just want to know what some of you think. But I do understand that injuries come with the territory and everyone's team has them.

Some of my older guys I won't play at all until the 4th preseason game. You really would be better off bringing them along slowly, low conditioning can contribute to more injuries so it's best to play them gradually more as the preseason goes along.

NFL teams will typically play thier starters as such
1st game - 1 quarter
2nd game - 2 quarters
3rd game - 3 quarters
4th game - 1 quarter or less

I agree with mellow lellow. No need to play your vet starters too much. I relagate most of the time to draftees and younger players that still have a lot of room to improve. Also, you can try to mitigate the injuries by reducing your fatigue setting. If you're deep at a position you can drop it to 50 more or less and keep a fresh player rotation.

I drop my fatigue rates way down in preseason too.

After the draft I round out my team with one year minimum contract guys that are awful (like overall rating below 20) to fill out my special teams for preseason and plug up holes when my actual players get injured during the preseason.

The first time I did that, i used the best available free agents, but realized they would never sign with me again once I cut them.
