I've been saying this for a while, (don't know if stats will back this up) away teams seem to have an advantage over home teams.

I really think it's because the wild card teams tend to be in tougher divisions with more competitive owners, and when they get to the playoffs the lesser teams that won the other divisions are unable to compete with them.

This was me for the longest time. I had a team that would routinely be just under 500 because I had 4 games a season against two of the top 4-5 teams in the league. Meanwhile there was a division where 5-11 won it. Just at the end of this last season I decided to rebuild but honestly my 7-9 team was better than some 9-7, 10-6 teams elsewhere

The championship game was close because of the unbalanced penalties called. Washington had 13 penalties for 94 yards. Which killed a lot of drives. Kansas City had 0 penalties. Also Washington was either 1st or 2nd ranked in the power rankings all season.
