I was just going to post that my teams were available and slip away without saying much to anyone (I did tell Ray I guess), but I have now had a few people reach out to me directly.

Yes, I am leaving MFN. No, I have not been banned, yet, I think.

The short answer why is because the game has ceased to be fun for me. I won't rehash the reasons why here. They are easy enough to find in some of all of my other posts.

Will I come back? Maybe, it depends. Probably not for several months.

To the veterans that I have competed with in multiple leagues -- like WarEagle, Ares, Gustoon, Bryson, Blackflys, Krazy, eyeballlll, ray, punisher (yes, punisher), drodgers, DemonMaster, CrazyRazor, catalist, Alpine, and all those I'm leaving out -- keep doing what you're doing. It's up to you all to show the up-and-comers the way now.

Out.

I am honored to be listed by Seth among his list of elite as I have only owned three teams and think we only were in 19 together.

He made me raise my game and work harder on game-planning and scouting.

I think you should consider scaling back the number of teams and focusing on them as that has allowed me to enjoy the game even with some of the nonsense.

(my favorite of all time was in conference championship game where I was down by 7 and driving. I think I was inside the opponents 40 with the clock ticking and no timeouts and the play called was a half back dive.)

Good luck

Just a quick note. I don't think punisher is really putting blame on JDB here, but let me clear something up. In no way is my leaving a result of the quality of MFN in its current state. The game is playable and replayable for probably 90% of all team owners. Even with all of its problems, 0.4.1 fixed a number of the code problems with the game.

sorry if my post sounded like i was blaming JDB wasnt trying to i would say i was trying to put the fire under him or in him so he would try to or at least in my opinion meet you halfway in trying to not lose you or anyone for that matter.

guess i should have worded it differently but not sure how i would go about that so i guess i will leave it as it is until i think of a better way to saying what i was trying to say without blaming anyone for anything.

Yup, understood. I just wanted to clarify my position toward it. I said a lot of harsh things about the game recently.

Very honored to be included in the list, particularly as I -think- I am the newest member on it. Seth you and I had some fantastic games, including 3 championship games in 67. You are without a doubt my biggest and fiercest rival. I'll miss those games.

I'm really sad about this. I understand the reasoning, but you will be missed. I hope your miss it and come back, even in a limited way. You're an asset to all of us, from the newbies right up to JDB. This game is better because of your contributions. I've enjoyed competing with you!

well i truly believe that JDB would have to make the game more stagnant to Setherick liken then i think he would come back.

will have to say that or should say i think it is JDB move or the basketball is in his court now and really i would think somewhat what he does from this point on will decide if Setherick comes back or if others will do what Setherick did and leave in droves .

Just a quick note. I don't think punisher is really putting blame on JDB here, but let me clear something up. In no way is my leaving a result of the quality of MFN in its current state. The problem for me is I exist in that 10% group where core logical problems with a game grate on me. (This could be one of the reasons why I'm so good at my IRL job.) I tend to trace these logical problems to a conclusion, and then decide if a game is worth playing despite them. Until recently, I found enough in MFN to keep my interest.

Now, that said, should JDB drop everything that he's doing and fix these core problems for the 10% of players like myself? No.

Software development lifecycles are a careful balance in priorities. And taking on a massive rewrite of core algorithms isn't worth JDB's time nor effort right now. There are a number of smaller fixes that should be made sooner that don't require a full rewrite of algorithms. Similarly, there are a number of smaller enhancements that could be made that would make the game more interesting for the vast majority of users. For instance, would you rather see hidden draft attributes development or have JDB do nothing but rewrite algorithms? No, didn't think so. I wouldn't want to see him waste his time either.

For what it's worth, this football sim held my interest longer than others. :)
