OP Plays

(OP = OverPowered for those not up on current game lingo ;-)

In the game I just had, 3 times NJY came out in a goal line formation, and 3 times they hit me for huge pass plays. If you watch, it looks like I'm set up to have coverage, but no one picks up the TE on the far right of the formation who is a step back from the line. We ran him down on one play, the other two went for TDs.

What happens here is one LB blitzes, another LB moves up to cover / chip one of the receivers, then blitzes, leaving one LB and 2 safeties in coverage. The LB and one safety follow receivers, the other safety backpedals into the deep zone, and that safety does not recognize the player coming out and running the corner route. Either that safety should be moving over to cover the corner route, or the LB who chipped should have stayed with his man so the coverage safety could stay with the corner route man.

And I know it's hard to implement in a game like this, but the alternative would be for us to recognize it the first time it burned us, and have those safeties figure it out for the second and third playcalls.

Or I need to get the defensive playcall so I can drop it from my playbook entirely...

Thanks for the report - I'll check it out and see if I can get a good solution.

I just pushed a possible fix to make the deep safeties a little smarter in this situation. Let me know if you notice any kind of a change.
