Leaving MFN

Well this was a tough choice but after 3 years I have decided its time to move on. Its not that I don't enjoy the game its more about what I expected the game to be like after 3 years. The way I see it you have either a regular league where the owners HAVE TO make rules in order to compete and win or the roster only leagues where its just a no effort required kind of league. Personally I was expecting a sim where the attributes actually mean something and even if you just coasted along that at least the coaches would call a decent game plan. To me the attributes are all up and down, tweak one and something else gets nerfed along the way. I have been in way to many league where 1 or 2 owners totally dominate the league and by this I mean that season after season they only lose 0-1 games. I have seen teams where the records are 158-10 or thereabouts with mediocre players (rules and exploits). The owner drops the team a new owner takes over and the team goes 6-10.

The draft used to be one of my favorite things in MFN. Recently though I have seen drafts where the 1st round talent is slim at best. To me there should always be at least 1-2 elite QBs available every draft just as there is in the NFL. Player talent recently has dropped into the 70's after the 1st 12-15 picks are off the board, unrealistic to say the least.

When roster only leagues came out I thought that would be a fun way to go but talk about boring games OMG. I did have a few talks with JDB about them and I proposed a league where gameplanning was implemented but the rules tab was not present. Therefore owners could pick the plays and even gameplan a little to make the games a tad more exciting. But the answer I got was that he was going to work on the game engine 1st since it was 10 years old. However I am just curious as to how hard it would have actually been to create a league without the RULES tab in the gameplanning screen.

Anyway I regress, Thanks to everyone who helped me out from day 1 in MFN. There are too many names to list but Bryson10, setherick, raymattison21, eyeball, Big Poppa, and the 1st person to ever help of course was Wolfkill. I will miss playing with y'all but its time to go. Just going to let my seasons run out and not register my teams. All my players and coaches will be signed and there will be cap room. Perhaps someday in the future you will see me again.

Gotta say a few of us in my main league have started question what, if anything, these ratings really mean. And how many of them mean little or nothing.

I hope we do see you again! You have been a steady fixture in a few of the leagues that I've been in during my time here.
I completely understand where you're coming from on those issues, Bill. I hope you enjoy everything life has to offer you! Take care & God Bless!

Gonna miss playing against you too bud. :(
I agree 100% with everything you typed.... the game, for me, has gone from being fun to... ***?
I have 100 credits left and when I bleed those out I'll be making a choice too. And unless 046 is some kind of savior...it won't be a hard one to make.
Good luck bro! hope to see you around!

Never say goodbye....a break is as good as a holiday ! We have not crossed swords, but I understand your frustrations. Allow them to be minimal in the larger picture of life.

God Bless.
