Starters in Training Camp

Had a question. Right before the training camp simulation cycles, if you place your rookies in the starting positions, will their gains be more than if they are in back of the depth chart?

I think I read somewhere that depth chart placement doesn't matter but I've been wrong before. Punisher probably knows.

Simple answer is no but if you switch a qb to rb his potential in any specific qb ratings will drop

Then why would we want to switch a QB to a RB position before training camp? Is there a positive outcome for the QB?

I will occasionally switch a QB to RB if the QB is fast and is a back up or 3rd string QB. He won't see much time at QB during the regular season, but with RB injuries, he could step in a play a couple games at RB, so the boost at RB may be helpful.

I often switch low rank WR to RB when injury bug happens or not much from FA or Draft. I have found that they more often have the required speed, ball carry, hopefully high fumble number.....to be effective. They get hurt more tho cause they light.

This guy here used to play RB for me, now he is my starting QB https://usflwfl.myfootballnow.com/player/5322. I never changed his position designation, Ric Flair has always been a QB on his player card. He was my 2nd or 3rd string QB for years, but injuries hit me hard at RB and I noticed he also had good RB attributes, so I used him there. He was serviceable at best but more importantly, he still has his QB attributes and starts now because he's finally better than the aging former starter.

I've got a couple of fast substitute QBs I use that way. The RB experience doesn't hurt them (it just boosts their BT), and maybe someday QBs will run again.
