Tracking records?

Is there any 'easy' way of tracking League records, Franchise records, Individual team records

It would be good (or at least of some interest) to know, seasonal records, all time records for things like

Passing yards (game/season) - Individual/Team
Passing TD's (game/season) - Individual/Team
QB win/loss record as starter
4th quarter comeback wins
Rushing yards (game/season) - Individual/Team
Rushing TD's (game/season) - Individual/Team
Receiving yards (game/season) - Individual/Team
Receiving TD's (game/season) - Individual/Team
All purpose yards (game/season) - Individual/Team
Sacks (game/season) - Individual/Team
Interceptions (game/season) - Individual/Team
Tackles for a loss (game/season) - Individual/Team - *never understood why sacks are so revered but tackling a runner/receiver in the backfield is overlooked - great way to judge defensive players
Points - mostly for Kickers
2-point conversion tries/scores
Yards after contact? (Rushing/receiving)
Consecutive starts

Should help to assess players for potential trades and 'Hall of Fame' entrants. It would be good to be able to see franchise records/league records for the above categories for Individual games/Seasons/All-time.

Nice to see a top 10 list for all time stats. And maybe something along the lines of a PFF ranking for players at each position. At the moment, trades and drafting are heavily influenced by player ratings with less emphasis on player performance. Would you take a player who looks good on 'paper' or a supposedly worse player with better 'on field' performance

At present you can 'scout' by adjusting player weightings when drafting, can a players actual performance be part of the algorithym when assessing free agents/trades. Also when filtering players on free agent list it would be nice to have secondary filter(s) eg RB: speed 60+, acceleration 60+, pass catching 75+ etc to enable you to quickly find a shortlist of players who meet your specific requirements without having to trawl through each individual player rating or download a .csv file

What other stats would you like to see tracked?

On the league home page, click on Player Stats. From there you can check by conference or the entire league, sort by preseason, regular season or post season, and you can sort by season, season game by game, all time, all time by season and all time by game.

For individual team stats, go to the team page, click stats and sort from there.

Agreed. However, incredibly cumbersome, which is the main point of the op to me, at least.
I know the data is out there, i just wish it was not such an obtuse path to arrive at it.

Even if the OP is aware of the stats menu, there may be people who see this that aren't aware.

I agree it's cumbersome as is. I had wanted to track my team's records and even set up a page or two somewhere but searching the stats to fill them out was too much so now those pages are dormant, on the last page of Team News.

As league admin, I track my leagues here

https://xfl.myfootballnow.com/forums/1/390?page=1#2044

Very time consuming but it makes the presentation easier for owners to check stat leaders for career, season and game results

As you're aware Fred, but in the interests of sharing to those that aren't in the League of Legends, I share my weekly power rankings for the League using a google docs spreadsheet.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18vW82j7O0qeKOnOSo1uSP6ZtVBqecz4zskWeo1bkeF0/edit?usp=sharing

This allows people to track the progress made in two sets of rankings (mine and the official MFN power rankings) over the course of a season.

I have also put together a spreadsheet showing some league statistics and plan to update it periodically and then archive it for future reference.

There are other stats that I would like to see as stated in the OP, in particular (and in no particular order)

QB win/loss record as a starter
QB 4th Quarter comeback wins

These two give an insight into a players 'hidden' variables, that may or may not be coded into the game. Things like 'clutch', poise, focus, character, '*****' etc and should help when analysing whether to trade/keep a QB.

Scrimmage (all purpose) yards (total and yards per touch average)

Yes it's a simple Rush yards + Receiving yards (could also include Return yards) but highlights a players versatility

Stuffs

This has long been a bugbear of mine, in games such as MFN. This is a great statistic for assessing a defensive players ability to bust up a play. We have Sacks, hurries/pressures, forced fumbles, Interceptions, knockdowns, thrown at, catch allowed all freely available. I think it would massively help to assess a defensive players ability if you could track a players ability to make plays in the backfield, being it stuffing a run for a loss, tackling a receiver behind the line of scrimmage. Combine this with sacks and you start to build up a better picture of a defenders 'big play' ability

Kicker points scored

Should be a simple add in to stats that are already there (FGMade*3)+(XPMade)=KickPts

2 point scores

Seems to be largely ignored by stats. Attempts/Successful tries should be there. Run/Pass attempts success rate (for both individual teams and league averages). There could then also be a total points scored category (TD*6)+(TPS*2)=TotalPts

Yards after contact/yards after catch/TDs after missed tackles

The game recognises 'break tackles' It would be nice to be able to look up which players can back up good break tackle ratings with performance on the field. By contrast the info should all be in the game engine for the defenders for yards after missed tackle/TD allowed after missed tackles. This could highlight which players are looking to punish receivers/strip the ball and which are less explosive but stop the play at contact more often.

This would really help to build a D in your style, be it volatile, looking for big plays or stable, giving nothing away in yards but less big play potential. You could also send out a 'turnover team' using over-rides and send out players with high strip ball/punish receiver ratings to try and force a turnover late in a game when your team is behind in the game - at the risk of giving up more yards after contact/catch.

Consecutive starts/games deactivated

Shows a players longevity and makes it easier to spot players that are seemingly always in the sick bay getting treatment. Do you gamble on a 90+ rated player who has missed an average of 4 games a year or a 70ish rated jobber who has never missed a game. The info is all there but it should be easier to access in my opinion.
