Scheduling

Is it possible to not have 4 game stretches on the road, occasionally 6 of 7 games.

It's tougher to win on the road (rightly so) and confidence/momentum can also impact teams (rightly so). A four game stretch just doesn''t happen in real life (barring an end of season road trip and 3 playoff games on the road)

Also, how is the schedule formed. I assume

Div games x6 3h, 3a
Inter conf games x6
And playing one division from the opposing conference on a 4 year rotation.

I would like to see a much more competitive schedule eg

6 div games - as standard
1 alternate division games on a 7 year cycle
The 6 remaining games to be played against teams who finished in the corresponding position in their division ie all division winners play each other, all 2nd placed teams play each other etc...

In my opinion this keeps the interest of good owners as they are playing competitively more often, the owners 'learning' the intricacies of the game play more often against owners of a similar level and the car crash teams that have been badly managed, cap **** etc should all be in a position to win at least 3 or 4 games a year.

No-one wants an 0-16 team in the league and going 16-0 should be near impossible. Maybe it would make no difference but with a small tweak in the scheduling I think you could get leagues with more parity and the top coaches would not be able to coast through every regular season with minimum records of 14-2.

The teams we play in MFN are determined exactly like NFL started doing it when they expanded to 32 teams. I have no clue why we get 4 straight road games though.

What about bye weeks? I don't think this league uses bye weeks, but this would help heal injuries.

Obviously there are no bye weeks in MFN, I meant the schedule construction is the same, with the rotating divisions year to year. AFC West plays the East one year, North one year, etc.

Yes that's what I thought and although this is a sim of NFL, it's not actual NFL.

The 4 game road stretch is not NFL-esque though and should be 'reasonably' easy to fix.

The schedule I'm suggesting is a tweak on the NFL schedule, specifically to give a clearer more defined strength of schedule.

I think in future versions of this simulations, every schedule should include one bye week for each team. This would be very helpful for teams to heal injuries. Why don't MFN have bye weeks? Well except for when you win a seed and have one in the first round of the playoffs.
