Game was January 31 - I think we are still on the same version.
That's a 66 overall CB with 96 speed.

I do get how they are a big deal ...
1. They are visually disturbing.
2. They have a large impact on a game's outcome all at once.
3. They are fairly easy unless the opponent goes to some trouble to stop them.
4. A lot of us recognize they could be easily made better (not fixed) with two small tweaks, one to punt timing (making it more true to RL), one to default ST positioning. Maybe working on the pass code and speed issues could wait until a band-aid is applied here.
5. Certain parties (not the posters here, they are sincere) would rather see us all focused on this issue ... than on what they've been up to. Anyone can hate me for saying that.

I have had positive PM feedback from a few owners who do go to the trouble to properly set their pass blocker over-rides. The default should be a better set. People shouldn't have to manually do this to avoid 8 PBs, or 4, or even 2 a game.

maybe allowing a Fake Punt - Run inside playcall would help.
Those 180 pound Punt Blockers should easily be driven 10 yards back

speed gaps created by weight is and has always been the most broke part of the game. Fixing that trumps all other bugs. Changes are non existent of late and the next one has to be a big one in order for the game to grow.

How many guys play and leave with little comments on gameplay? They can feel and see how wrong this part of the game is and just give up....its punt blocks today as the hot topic, but whats tommarrows and yesterday's....who knows but some how they are all tied to the speed gaps.

Great! Let's not fix something obvious because the whole game is broken....if we tinker with punt timing....the while game falls apart because their will be more punts that dont get blocked.

In fact, let's not suggest anything because it may upset Ray. Who cares what the actual paying customer thinks?

Heres the big deal!

Everyone in this post plays for fun in leagues where they have owned teams for many seasons. They like to compete and are looking for a realistic Footballl roster management sim.

Ray logs in to tinker with the code and rarely remains in leagues through multiple seasons. He joins private custom leagues to learn and experiment.

This is a no brain quick fix that wont ruin the sim. A quick tweak to punt timing will lower punt blocks and create more successful punts. I never asked for punt blocks to be removed but the shear volume ruins the game experience.

Go fix all the speed issues you want and I'm sure that will create new issues but this is an easy fix.

We arent all coders or as brilliant as you Ray...we are just the end users that try to keep this game going and want a better experience.

Instead of non-affiliated Ray from Beta responding with his bright ideas....we hear from the actual creator with some feedback or suggestions.

JDB....can you do anything about this punt block issues?

Except for the part where you say "Fixing that trumps all other bugs." I totally agree. Speed gaps are the most important issue. Getting them right will make the game as a whole better and pre-empt several exploits. I've previously said that fixing trade values was most important to customer retention, but trade value issues stem from speed gap issues. I simply question whether they are the most urgent issue at the moment.

It would be humorous to me if JDB's reaction to Cj - was commensurate with Cj's previous reactions to me, throwing a few of his own phrases back at him ... but no, not constructive. Cj and others here are saying exactly what I've been wanting someone sincere to say on this subject. Excessive punt blocks can be easily fixed without affecting other parts of the game. Customers who are here for football not exploits are feeling the pain. Let's do it and then move on.

Back to the OP:
1. Punt block stats in box scores.
2. Turnover and targeting stats on play cards.
3. OOP stats on player cards or pages.
Excellent suggestions that could be incorporated into the next interface. Good thoughts, Admiral.
