FILLED: Defending Champ + 2 Other Openings in USFL/WFL

The USFL/WFL is preparing to begin its second season. We brought back 29 of 32 coaches over the transition, a darn good retention rate in MFN. Here are the three openings:

Florida Blazers: The defending World Bowl champions. Blazers were 15-1 last year and won their three playoff games by an average margin of 33 points. The commissioner (tribewriter, me) left this team because his interest is in building the entire league, not filling his trophy case. Solid veteran players at every position, including CB Barry Litchford, the No. 2 overall pick in the allocation draft.

Memphis Showboats: Memphis was 9-7 last season, and would have been in the playoffs but for going 2-4 down the stretch. Offense averaged 31 points per game and QB Brandon Rocha threw for 5,254 yards and 43 TDs.[/s]

Orlando Renegades: Went 5-10-1, but with a coach who totally ignored the roster. Nine players with overall ratings of 75 or better (my weights). DL Chris McDuffie was All-Pro, OL Samuel Hines was honorable-mention All-Pro and RB Matthew Mitchell and DT Robert Rinaldi are both 93 overall.
