New to Game? Run vs Pass

Getting ready for my first allocation draft. Is this game a Pass, Run or Balanced game? i.e. Is it better to have a stud QB or a stud RB?

It really depends on what kind of team you want and your coach's philosophy. You don't need "studs" in either position in that they don't need to be 80+ rated (your defensive players should be studs) but you definitely want good players rated in the 70s for both, and there are specific attributes you should look for that make some 70s players better than others that you'll have to figure out :)

My teams end up being pass heavy, but my backs make up for fewer carries with high yards per carry.

Thanks a ton. That is kind of what I hoped it would be. So Defense wins championships!!

I've seen many teams that are pass happy and lead the league in all O categories only to run into one team that matches up well against them in the playoffs and lose.
I've won with average Offenses and solid D.
O-line is critical and underrated by many, imo.

O-line isn't underrated. Get the appropriate O-line is key. It all depends on your play style, and most people don't spend the time to get their O-line weights right.

That said...pass blocking is still broken.

Silly question, O-line weights? Pounds or attribute weights?

Both? I was referring to attribute weights, but yes, physical weight is important as well. There are plenty of FBs and TEs that you could convert to OL, but it would take them 5 years to get to the point where they weren't pushovers.

I said O-line is critical and underrated by many (people playing the game). I'm helping the new guy out. ;)

Yes, some of the pass blocking is broken, IMO
