Another penalty error

1-3-BOS 3 (9:01) 9-Edgar Davis pass complete to 87-Jack Trask for 3 yards. TOUCHDOWN! PENALTY - Facemask (BOS 32-William Perry)

The penalty was accepted, nullifying the TD and placing the ball at the 0 yard line.

Yeah, I noticed that one.

There is a known bug where the offense will accept a penalty instead of taking the touchdown - the patch should be released soon.

It also does it with a field goal too. Although, there might be occasions where that will be desirable. Perhaps a rule option could be implemented so that we could pick when to take points off the board.

If the penalty results in a first down it should choose to take the points off the board to try to get a TD - if it doesn't then it should take the points. Let me know if you see a play that doesn't make sense and I'll look into whether the logic worked. It might do the wrong thing if time is expiring and there would only be time to try another field goal.

Although it made no difference in this particular situation, here is the link:

It would also make sense to keep the points where a FG essentially wraps up the game. For example, where the offensive team is ahead by 6 and adding 3 with little time remaining puts the game put of reach.

Another example is late in the game when the offensive team is tied or behind by 2 or fewer points and would rather take the lead and trust its defense to hold it (rather then risk not otherwise converting on the scoring opportunity). Of course, different coaches might employ different strategies depending on the unique circumstances they face, e.g., time remaining, score, and distance to goal line. That's why I suggested having a rule specifically dealing with the scenario (or being able to add a rule). Thanks.
