New player question about Coach's Salaries

By yardbyyard

I am a new player.

I have question about coaching salaries. I see that some coaching staffs have a combined payroll of over 50 million ( often even more than that depending on the current season year date. )

It does not look like the coaching payroll is part of the salary cap. How do I know what money I have available to spend on coaching salaries? I am not sure where to look. How can I know the impact of my coaches salaries on my team finances and cash balance? How can I see it budgeted and accounted for?

Thanks

Everyone has the same amount of money for coaches. You can see how much you have available when you offer a coach a contract - there is a bar across the top that shows the allocation of your coaching money (similar to the one on the player contract page).

Thanks!

Does unspent money for Coach Salaries carry over to the next season and build up over time?

This is one area of the game that I'd love to see improved down the road.

To have a payroll who's budget depends on a number of factors would be kool.

Attendance, wins/losses, wins at home, wins vs winning ball clubs, winning or losing trends, star players, traditions, stadium, stadium condition, advertising deals, media contract choices, ticket prices and promotions.

Have a few attributes for coaches that relate to public relations. Such as pre-game interviews, post-game interviews, reputation, the kind of offense or defense they like to run, and what kind of temperament they have. Example: A hot headed coach might be much more liked in Philly than they would be in San Francisco. As long as their winning of course. :)

I prolly overlooked some stuff but for me this would be fun. Trying to keep your head above water is half the battle in managing a franchise. Also make the whole coaching deal more in depth and relevant. But that's a whole other topic in itself.

Thank for the information!

As a new player, I was just wondering if there was any benefit to spending below Coach salary limit. Like money being carried over to future seasons. Thanks for the help!

It can be a two edged sword.

Unless he is a HC other teams can poach your staff as long as it is a promotion for the coach. Coordinators to HC or position coaches to Coordinator or HC.

Others can chime in on this but I believe the contract has to be more $$ than what you have him signed for as well. But not positive on this. There lies the strategy of signing him to a bigger contract or as min. as possible and still hang onto him and still have money in the budget for the future. Hopefully others can help me out on this.
