Quarterback Holds the Ball Too Long

I have found out through trial and (mostly!) error which quarterbacks will take sacks rather than getting rid of the ball. Is there a rating for this? Why do some players seem to know ahead of time which quarterbacks are good and which are not?
Why has this guy https://arena.myfootballnow.com/player/417 been good while this guy https://arena.myfootballnow.com/player/1843 has been terrible?
Why is this guy https://wisconsin-boys.myfootballnow.com/player/4214 a superstar?
Why has this guy https://national-fictional-football-league.myfootballnow.com/player/2993 been a sack dispenser?
I cannot see a rating for this, but apparently there is one.

i am in the same boat with you

this QB = https://arena.myfootballnow.com/player/831

should tear up the league because he is the 6th rated QB and be like maybe Tom Brady yet he is getting tore up himself with 2 TDs and 23 interceptions and playing like Vinny Testavadre or having a career like Mark Sanchez where he tears up league for some seasons then he goes back to being mediocre .

I can respect that most people who know wouldn't tell. But I'm hoping that *somebody* will be a smarty-pants. Or maybe there's nothing to it.

if i had to guess Setherick probably know something or the 4.4 version makes the best QBS crappy and worst QBS Better .

thats why i said each league should just be put in 4.5 version and then people would just post Bugs as they happen to them which would SPEED up the process to where you would get rare bugs maybe once a month or once ever 3 months or once ever 6 months.

I think it’s a combination of specific ratings like accuracy, teammates and play calling. I think having good attributes won’t do much If you have bad receivers and don’t call good plays. Some codes team’s blitzed a ton and if you didn’t know how to counteract it you would post terrible numbers. On 4.4 if you try to throw deep a lot you get destroyed. Sometimes I think certain qbs just perform better than others with no reasoning or rating correlation. I always look for specific type of qbs based on attributes and then see how they perform. Once I see them play I can usually tell if they will be good or not. Putting up great stats then is accomplished by game planning the individual teams you play each week. There’s a lot that goes into good QB play

The decision calculation is broken in 0.4.4. It's being fixed in 4.5.

Basically what happens is that the QB can't determine if the WR is open, so he just doesn't throw it.

I noticed qbs turning their back on the rush on older codes as well. I always thought the slower release and less mobility qbs did it more often.

Passing Release determines the time between when a QB makes a decision WHO to throw it to and when he actually throws it.

Before that, the QB decision calculation is based on the probability that the WR will make a catch. This relies on the QB's INT and FOV to make the calculation. The QB has to see the WR (FOV) and then realize that he's going to be open (INT). Once he finds the open WR and decides to throw it to him, then Passing Release kicks in.

Scrambling determines how long he holds the ball before throwing it away when no one is open and he's under pressure. Scrambling also negates a penalty for throwing on the move.

Everyone got that? :)

The biggest difference maker for my plans was what plays I was using. In Rivals we took 31 sacks in the first 6 games. After pulling all long passes from the playbook for the final 11 games our totals fell to 19 in that span.

I haven't tested it out a ton yet, as I am just starting to play with different offensive schemes in my leagues, but if you are a pass focused team, I would look at how many players you have going out in a route. If you want to run longer pass plays, you should make sure you leave a RB/FB or a TE blocking to account for blitzes that may come. If you are running a West Coast (short passes as your running game) then you will want 5 guys in a route as much as possible.
