So I'm at the point where I'm just about giving up on getting good results from my TEs. I'm thinking it's a result of "everyone" playing coverage LBs who are as fast and specialized in this one job.

That guy should, imo, come down with far more ***** than he does. When looking at his skills, turning him into either a RB or WR, he should dominate and get 85+ speed as well.

Would you change his position?

I had the best te the league has seen before him, but even then couldn't get really good production, compared to that of journeyman WRs.

I have not problem getting good production from TEs playing them as TEs: https://mfn19.myfootballnow.com/player/10838

Even bad ones:

Yeah, there's production, but why do we have so suffice with 50-60% reception rates, when they can go to 70%+ easily, played at WR?

I'd say Ronald Lilley, apart from his speed, is my best overall player. Yet he could hardly catch a cold.

This is his game records this season. The ones with yellow lines are the two games since I moved him to WR.

Out of 10 games, only in 5 of them, have he had above 50% reception rate. Since moving him to WR, it's been 70%+.

I'll obviously keep monitoring this, while I'll allow a lesser TE to pick up where Lilley left, but I'm very curious why this is. In 10 of 13 games of the season, he's now up to a career high 60% reception rate.

Completion percentage is not on the TE, it's on the QB and the defenses. WRs get a higher percentage, and lower catches, because the QB doesn't always target them. A good TE will consistently keep your drives alive.

Albeit, gone are the days that you could put a WR at TE and run the Double Outs all game.

I must be doing something very wrong then.

Lilley was my most targeted, but the targets are, generally, spread out very well between my RB's, my top 3 WR's and him. He was just the sore eye sticking out, for not being able to hold on to the ball (or the QB throwing his direction on a lot of busted plays...)

Could be. A number of TE plays go to the center of the field instead of stretching the field to the edge. I'd have to see what plays you're running.

These are all the plays that I am or have been using this regular season.

And yes. It's by design, that I'm only using 3 formations. (1-1-3, 2-0-3 and 2-1-2)

The possession offensive playbook is more geared to WR passing than TE passing. The best TE passing playbook is the General Balanced.

In general, the plays that you have that are going to go to the TE are hooks or in traffic. The best of the bunch is the Short Attack.

You also don't have the best TE attack plays from the quick look I took.

This is the best TE I have in a Possession Offense if you want to look at the plays I'm running there: https://cust18.myfootballnow.com/player/10051

Right. I cared less about what style of offense, when I hired new head coach.

I'll make do. Thanks! :-)
