3yrs of 4.5 FFS FIX SOMETHING. ANYTHING.

This spring marks 3 yrs of v4.5. No user interface updates. MFN is no longer anywhere close to the actual NFL: PLayoffs, drafting, IR, and salary structures. Nevermind the blocking bugs, but when the **** are the "normal" business of the NFL ever going to reach MFN?
3 freaking years without any update. MFN playoffs are bullshiite. At some point, I would like to encourage the game dev to update the user interface, update playoff trees, etc and IGNORE efforting including the blocking fix.
THREE YEARS WITH NOTHING.
...and now MFN is not anywhere close to being "in the game."
In fact it is a couple years out of date in the most basic of NFL structure. It's so 2000, it'l never be 2021, apparently, because fixing punt blocking matters more than fixing the user experience : err. superficial **** like playoff formats...
Just YIKES! WHAT HAPPENED?

GIVE US A USER INTERFACE UPDATE, WE ARE BEYOND FIXING BLOCKING RIGHT NOW.
Get with the NFL, or do not claim to sim it.
MFN is stuck in 2000, while the NFL is playing 2021.
FFS FIX SOMETHING. ANYTHING. JUST STOP CLAIMING BLOCKING ISSUES AS THE BARRIER TO ANY UPDATES.

BETA leagues do not have the punt block problem and utilise the new 7 team playoffs.

In my opinion it's a more challenging game than 4.5 but has flaws also. It was all set to be released at one point but the passing stats and sacks were way off. The sacks are manageable, you just have to invest in quality OL. Thus making trade values more accurate for both OL and DL.

The passing is ok if you want to dink'n'dunk but woeful if you want to be more expansive and throw the ball deep.

Teams are generally more run focused now, which you could argue is a throwback to the last millennium. However, if and when the passing issue is solved/improved then the product is very good, if not the best of its kind.

Victory had 80 sacks and 80 pressures in 14 play off games while champions had 20 sacks and 40 pressures in 11. Pass blocking is completely different in various ways. 4.5 the smaller you were the quicker you ran around pass blockers. Now there’s a sweet spot when lighter than that will actually make your guy worse at the speed rush. Punt blocks worked in the same manner but the big difference is that speed/size vs speed /size calculation change .

The next is the blitz pickups. Many have changed to include Backs and TEs a bit more in the responsibilities of who blocks who. You could go 800 pass attempts with literally no pressure in 4.5.... no scrambling.....this was to make up for those two egregious 4.5 errors. In terms of real ness the base is there for something to work off of in the future.

The problem still is coverage and I am really just speaking of man to man. As zone had tweaks in a different version of 4.6 nobody even brings up. Those shelved zone tweaks will help make zone more verifiable in the future. But still man had to be made over powered to make up for the speed gaps created by a certain players weight. That was touched on in the current 4.6 and shut a lot doors to minor exploits in that area. But it made man way to strong and QBs really only rely mostly on accuracy and lesser arm the deeper you throw it down field.

Hence the long passes being almost useless under 4.6. 4.5 I would throw long and hope for a dump off at a ten percent sack rate now it’s near 50 in those same scenarios. Good or bad “hand fighting “ was added back in the early 4.3 days , moderated by bump and run, and it just way to strong right now... Exasperated by the raising of zero speed. Slower LBers can stay with backs in the flats due to the raising of zero speed but still the exploits there are the ways to get a lot of run after the catch to boost QB ratings.

So there is a lot to work on but the foundation is more solid I would say. These were route cause changes not superficial band aids. From 4.3 to 4.5 there was a lot of man hours put in over real years to make those changes. Upon release many said the offensive was down a good 30 percent from older versions. The same could be said for this version of 4.6 except the time put in to “ fix it. “

But in the future when man is made worse or the value of bump is lessened a lot of these passing wrinkles will be more manageable . Points and passing numbers will climb and maybe we could look at the running aspect of the game. Putting a time frame on anything is rough... well unless your a coder. Cause big things are happening just not at the rate as they used to.
