From this link = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Football_League_Draft#Supplemental_draft

Supplemental draft
Since 1977, the NFL has also held a supplemental draft to accommodate players who did not enter the regular draft. Players generally enter the supplementary draft because they missed the filing deadline for the NFL draft or because issues developed which affected their eligibility (such as academic or disciplinary matters). The supplemental draft is scheduled to occur at some point after the regular draft and before the start of the next season. In 1984 the NFL held an additional draft for players who were under contract with either USFL or CFL teams.

Draft order is determined by a weighted system that is divided into three groupings. First come the teams that had six or fewer wins last season, followed by non-playoff teams that had more than six wins, followed by the 12 playoff teams. In the supplemental draft, a team is not required to use any picks. Instead, if a team wants a player in the supplemental draft, they submit a "bid" to the Commissioner with the round they would pick that player. If no other team places a bid on that player at an earlier spot, the team is awarded the player and has to give up an equivalent pick in the following year's draft.[77]
(For example, FS Paul Oliver was taken by the San Diego Chargers in the fourth round of the supplemental draft in 2007; thus, in the 2008 NFL draft, the Chargers forfeited a fourth-round pick.)

i was thinking knowing we have free agency which NFL has , draft which NFL has , a preseason , regular season and playoffs that NFL has , etc. why not have a NFL Supplemental Draft ??

so with that my newest idea is NFL supplemental Draft.

And really there is 2 advantages of doing this.

  • 1.) well if a player did not enter the regular draft then players generally enter the supplementary draft because they missed the filing deadline for the NFL draft or because issues developed which affected their eligibility (such as academic or disciplinary matters) so really there a chance we could have a more detailed draft preview from people who make them.

  • 2.) we have people creating leagues that are not NFL driven yet another pro driven league
    examples

    1st = https://anarchy.myfootballnow.com/
    2nd minor league football system = https://theefl.myfootballnow.com/
    3rd USFL/WFL = https://usflwfl.myfootballnow.com/

  • 2.)So if we had this Supplemental draft then either those people could make another league which ties into their other league and draft players from that league or those people could draft players from the NFL (like somehow NFL went bankrupt and they now can draft their players)

  • 2.)Also on the flip side if we had this also in the leagues that werent created then really could make a fictional league where those players are coming from that went bankrupt that we could draft.

  • Now JDB if you are thinking about doing this just disregard this message because there is nothing to see here.

    thanks

    I absolutely love the idea of drafting from another league. Players get four years in the NCAA league then get drafted to a pro league. That'd be awesome.
