Great Suggestions that have been posted in league forums

I have decided maybe it is best to make 1 thread where i can copy and paste a quote that has a great suggestion in it .

With that the first 3 suggestions are below which 2 of them came from Duval and 1 of them came from me

if nothing else maybe the 2 from duval should happen awhile mine not so much

idea #1
Basically this idea helps teams get picked by people when a league has opening in it

Hey maybe during this season leading into next, it might be a good idea for the player owned teams who have 10+ picks going into the next few season to give some of those mid to late round picks to any new GM who comes in and stays through the next off season.. If we have 10 openings.. maybe a pick each, I'd volunteer to be one.. a 4th or 5th round pick maybe or 2 6th's. Just an Idea to help incentivise new players to stay in the league as teams are about to be very unbalanced... I won 2 playoffs games last season, have 53 players signed right now I can roll with, 11 picks and another 10 next season.
Maybe bring it up after the draft, I'm sure a number of players here dont want to lose these teams and giving up a pick to help continue the league is a drop in the bucket..I'll give 2 if it helps.. just an idea.

I for one endorse this and am going to test the water on this one with everyone.
Thoughts?

Idea #2
Basically this rewards people for playing for this game which in turn retains those same people where they hopefully will keep playing

Well, I don't know if the game is growing or shrinking or stagnant. I'd offer the opinion the game isn't going to grow at a viral rate until it has a price tag. People do like free stuff but free stuff generally doesn't hold much credibility. I saw this game initially off my facebook feed and after looking at it the first time, my impression was it was an app and couldn't possibly have any depth. Obviously the game needs a whole lot of balancing and improvements, but at some point a $10.00 price tag with 10 credits to start would really help. Something I read a lot about on our posts are GM's with "bad reps". I'm assuming they mean players who enter a league and either don't take it seriously, completely destroy the team intentionally and everything in between. You make people pay for the game and suddenly they take it a bit more seriously. Less dropping out. Less people with bad intentions. You can give them back the money in "in game credits", valued at 10 dollars for renaming or whatever.
The biggest thing this MFN has going for it outside of the fact there aren't many NFL style simulation games period, is that you can log into it from anywhere. This is huge and part of the marketing should be how similar it is to fantasy football in how you play/manage the game itself.
Another idea I've been thinking about for retaining players and keeping leagues going would be to create a league and player reward system for consecutive time played. For example, A player could earn 1 credit at the start of the new year (to use only in that league, that year) for every 3 seasons the Gm is active in the league up to a total of 2 credits or 6 seasons. After that 6th season it maxes at 2 credits a season. You wouldn't get the first credit until the start of your 4th consecutive season, if that makes sense. League rewards could be as simple as recognition banners on the main pages after so many seasons at a certain participation rate etc. Things like this, as subtle as they are can be an incentive to stay in a league and it really wouldn't cost much when compared to what it might retain.

Also put advert up in the community forum, does anyone read those? :)

I think people dont or at least the newer players i think dont .
i think the only place they go to and read are the league forums .
Now if like JDB changed it where he sent a welcome to MFN to people who just joined MFN and had helpful threads sent to them and his blog sent to them and also send them the community forums where they should post something in general discussion that has something to do with MFN , league matchmaking where they see which leagues they can join , communtity forums where they get help from people , Roster only forums where they post about only roster only leagues , suggestion forums where they post a suggestion , bug forums where they post a bug and off topic anything that is not about MFN then only THEN ONLY i would think newer players would go and post in the community forums
same for the older players except the part about helpful threads/his blog then i or one would think People would post like crazy in the communtity forums or at least go there and read things that might be benefital to them.
just my 2 cents.
