expand stats and add more filters

By Cjfred68

I currently have 2 leagues I run with 14 seasons of stats. I have a Hall of Fame and a historically alltime stats thread.

ADD

2 point conversion
Punt blocks

FILTERS

We need a minimum filter so we can see a bunch of alltime stats easily. For instance:

Qb rating...If I want to see the alltime QB with the best rating....I have to shuffle through a bunch of QBs with 1-50 attempts in their career.

A better example.....catch allowed percentage....If I want to see who led the season or is alltime in this stat, I have to jog through pages of players with 1 to 2 passes thrown at them. If I can set a minimum filter, it allows me to easily select the alltime greats and future hall of famers.

This filter helps for a bunch of stats by filtering out insignificant players and showing the real players

QB rating can be filtered for all-time, by season and by game.

Click on player stats, click on year, scroll down and you get

All-time, All-time by season and All-time by game. Select the one you want then click on QB rating and it will sort best to worst (or worst to best, depending if you click once or twice)

He is saying he wants to be able to modify the filter so the list includes only players with a minimum number of pass attempts or times thrown at or whatever.

Sure. Goto any league and hit player stats....then hit alltime....now goto defense....now tell me who has the ALLTIME LOWEST catch allowed percentage in that league?

I WILL TELL YOU....ITS SOMEBODY THAT ALLOWED A 0.0% CATCH ALLOWED PERCENTAGE ON 1 PASS THROWN AT.........TIMES 100

Now add a minimum thrown at filter...for instance 100,250,500....and you will get the actual alltime lowest catch allowed percentage.

The same for QB RATING (minimum attempts), YARDS PER CARRY (minimum rushes), YARDS PER ATTEMPT (minimum attempts), YARDS PER CATCH (minimum receptions), PUNT NET AVERAGE (minimum punts), RETURN AVERAGE (minimum returns).....etc etc

There is always a minimum required for seasonal and alltime stats to become a record....somebody who rushed the ball once for 12 yards isn't the NFLs alltime leader in yards per carry

I didn't say it was perfect or even good or that it wasn't needed. Just saying you can get QB rating quite easily. I track loads of stats in my leagues so I'm well aware of the frustrations.

I've asked jdb if the stats can be made available to download via csv so that I, you or anyone else can track and filter stats better. This is available for draft classes, which is invaluable for filtering out the players you don't want. He hasn't responded yet (doesn't mean he won't).

btw, having an obnoxious attitude to someone who was trying to help you out isn't going to encourage anyone to offer advice (good, bad or indifferent) #JustSaying

OK here is how you do it.

Player stats,
All time
Defense
Catch allowed

From here you need to do a bit of work.

Copy and paste as far down as 100 catches allowed (just over 280 players in Legends: 7 seasons of data - you might want to go with 150 or 200)

Set up a filter, then click on the tab for catch allowed % and hey presto.

I'm not being obnoxious, your reply had absolutely nothing to do with my suggestion. I know how to sort stats for game, season and alltime. I was trying to explain myself since you clearly misunderstood my original post.

I'm asking for a better filter system.

I do a XFL ALLTIME STATS THREAD

https://xfl.myfootballnow.com/forums/1/643?page=1#3723

I would love to add more but figuring averages is a pain in the *** because everyone is included.

The biggest problem is this.....My XFL league is in season 14 and some stat pages won't load anymore because of too much data....with filters....that would solve that problem.

Everything you have said or suggested, I already know how to do....Im asking for a simple filter system so I dont have to do all that.

Clearly, he has issues with alltime stats because leagues with 12 or more seasons start having issues loading.

Go here....
http://xfl.myfootballnow.com/

Try to load:
RECEIVING
ALLTIME BY GAME

or
DEFENSE
ALLTIME BY GAME

It will either keep spinning or come back with an error message. The more seasons in a league, the more stats become unloadable.

MFN-2 is in its 35th season and it won't load

RUSHING
ALLTIME BY GAME

and

DEFENSE
ALLTIME MINIMUM CATCH ALLOWED PERCENTAGE

there are 94 pages (40/page) of 0.0% players before you start to get anything above zero.

Fair enough, capital letters comes across as shouting in texts so it came across as this guy thinks I'm an idiot. No big deal.

I put this together for legends after your post earlier.

Didn't take too long to do and is relatively easy to keep up to date. Just copy and paste the data across. I'm trying to put together player rankings by position so I'm playing around with data quite a bit right now.

I'm happy to take on feedback, potential improvements etc. However, I would love the data to be available in .csv format to download rather than have to copy/paste 10 or 20 pages of data.

Jdb is probably (I'm guessing unaware of the data issues and should probably be archiving data in 10 season blocks - my opinion)

I love to pull up the misc. tab for total yards and total touchdowns.

CJ is right in that you definitely hit loading issues. It won't pull up certain things; dependent on how large the sort would be.

Adding a minimum filter would make tracking alltime game, season and career stats much easier.

94 pages of 40 players with a 0.0% catch allowed percentage vecause they had 1-2 ***** thrown there way is pointless and useless data.

I want to rate the best cover guys alltime and catch allowed percentage is the best indicated to me.
