Looking at the situation, why did my coach decline this penalty? It would have given me a first down at a critical spot. Not sure if it didn't recognize that would be the case and was focusing on the good punt.

Luckily didn't affect the outcome of the game after all said and done.

By NFL/NCAA rule, this penalty should be tacked on....in real life, the officials will take this out of the coaches hands (unless they have a superstar returner) and just tack on from the dead ball spot.

Also, be aware, a team can decline a penalty.
