Tired of this feature.

I understand why this feature exists, it just needs reworked.

Player A was cut to get the roster to 53 .. now in Week 4 and I need a DB .. and he wont sign with me. If they wont resign for a couple of sims, I get that. But its been 6 sims .. IRL, a paycheck is a paycheck.

+1 ... Also, a player that gets traded shouldn't always be Livid with you. What if that player gets traded and then cut by another team. Is he really never going to re-sign with your team?

Seems like players should be livid only if they are not playing enough or being paid enough, or both. Otherwise, they should just be satisfied with having a safe place.

I see it as a feature that also helps with a few exploits (changing position, cutting, then extending long term for cheap for instance), but I think the opinion should factor in the player talent level. In one league I filled out my team in the preseason with a few guys to play STs for the preseason, and I'm not realizing that none of them will probably ever sign with me ever again, even though I may be the only team to offer a contract. That's the biggest problem i'm facing right now. These guys below 65 potential should just be happy they're on a roster at all!

65 with 100 speed has value in a newer league, but not so much in a league with over 10 seasons. Still, the majority might just be happy to play, but what if it were a scheme player with a thousand yards or 30 sacks. How about a 65 QB with two rings under his guidance.

Let them test the market any way, cause if they were worth it you would have given them a contract in the first place. Still, this debate might be pointless as i have had no problems with contracts at all.

I understand the reason to have players be unwilling to sign with a team that cut them, but I think that should be capped at a few sims. Once every other team has had a chance to sign these players, and didn't, they should then be willing to sign with anyone.

In conjunction with this, a player's position should automatically revert to their "best" position once they become a FA so they can't be "hidden" at a lowly rated position in the hope they stay under the radar until you can resign them for cheap before anyone notices.

I thought that the issue with position switching was fixed when the players were released. I'll be honest, there might be a few of mine still lurking out there .. lol.

I know a player has been limited to what positions you can switch them to .. was that the update?

I'm definitely on board with a 2 sim wait to resign after a release.

FWIW, this could be a good a chance to also mention a suggestion of mine regarding a FA alert notification.

My only issue with this is that prior to the first regular season game, there may be as many as 224 players cut on one day. I wouldn't want an alert for all of these.

At the most I would want a new forum thread called "Recent Cuts" or something, not a new post in the general thread.

However, if these alerts were forum posts, I don't see how they would be much different than the transaction log that is currently available (and actually not as good because there would be many posts, instead of one list).

Feel free to correct me if I'm not remembering exactly what your idea was if it differs from anything I've said.
