0.4.1 Hotfix

Unless there is still a serious glaring issue, I have just released the last hotfix for 0.4.1. This addresses the high sack rate, low completion rate, and DL pursuit of QB issues.

Low completion rate? Please go into detail. The %s have been down, but what I'm seeing in Agent 86 is a lot of guys chucking the ball deep. They may be 48% but still throwing for 4,500 yds and 30+ tds. I hope this doesn't increase the accuracy for terrible QBs throwing deep. Bump up the short accuracy throws but not deep passes.

I'm trying to get a normal game plan to get around 65% completion rate. Here is currently how it works out in my testing system:

My goal is that with any depth you still get about the same yards per attempt.

Good info! Any predictions on how a low 70s QB should compare to a 90+ on average? My only real beef with this game has been that I don't see a big enough drop off with low rated QBs.

May I suggest taking a look at those leading the NFL in completion rate. Then break down those leaders in their completion rate as compared to long passes (10+), medium passes (6-9.9), and short passes (0-5.9) attempted to determine their arm strength.

For instance, Drew Brees led the league in completion % in 2011 with 71.2%. But on pass attempts beyond 10+, he only completed 23.7% of the passes. That tells me that Brees was almost unstoppable on short passes due to a bell curve.

65% completion seems too much. That will just make for a Fun-n-Gun track meet type of football game.
It would seem more compelling, where the O league leader might average scoring 40 pts a game and the average D league leader might average giving up 12. I honestly believe that type of end result will achieve a greater interest level, as opposed to hanging on hoping you can make 3-4 stops per game. Meanwhile you'd have the QB's sit on the mound as it were, winging the ball all over the field for an arena type performance.

I guess we'll see how it plays out. My defenses won't look as good though anymore :(

STOP HOT FIXING UNLESS ITS BUGS!!!! I lose to a craptastic team last night that cost me a 1st round bye due to this bs. My gameplan was shutting the best teams down and then I lose to a 1-14 team. Don't mess with gameplay unless it's off season. This **** is bs in season!

My opinion is that 65% overall is a tad high. I think short passing should probably go up some, intermediate down a little, and deep should go way down, certainly not above 30%. This would closer match what the NFL looks like.

What would the NFL look like if some of the teams didn't game plan?

Or if they couldn't make any changes to their plan once the game started?

My guess is the numbers would look a lot more like an arena league or college/high school than they do now.

One of the most important things in the NFL are in-game adjustments.

MFN is NOT the NFL.
