Waiver claims

Why do waiver claims go to the better teams? Waiver claims should go from worse to best not the opposite. My team is 0-2 in the ranch and I lost 2 waiver claims to teams that are 2-0. How is that fair. That would be like letting NE have first rights to waiver claims in the NFL.

Until the halfway point in the season, the previous season is used to consider the teams for the waiver wire order. So if you had a very good season last year and/or the other team had a very bad season last year, you'll be lower on the waiver wire priority list than they will be. Also, if you are awarded a claim, you go to the end of the list (so if only you and the #1 team place a claim on two different players, you would get one and the other team would get the other) Not sure which of those might be the reason you didn't get the claim you were shooting for.

Ah, first season the waiver wire is more or less random until the halfway mark of the season.

Sorry to dig this up, but I'd like to get some insight as to how the waiver process is handled by the AI with regard to multiple submissions by one team in one spin.

Scenario:

A GM has a .500 team in the previous season in a very competitive league. He sees multiple players that might improve his team in week 3

If a GM finds a player (A) that will improve their team, and the GM clicks "claim off waivers".

The GM then sees another player (B) that will improve their team, and the GM clicks "claim off waivers".

The GM then sees another player (C) that will improve their team, and the GM clicks "claim off waivers".

What happens if the GM is successful in signing player (A) ? Does the attempt by the GM to sign player (B) & (C) get discarded ?

I'm pretty sure that if your claim on player A gets processed, you get moved down to #32 on the pecking order. If no one else put a claim on player B then you'll get him and stay at #32. If no one puts a claim on player C then you'll also get him while staying at #32 in the waiver order.

Thanks, I've reduced my options to two players and "re-aligned" the ordered process, as I'm assuming the first player you make a claim to, is the first roll of the dice

Got player A (much needed) and got "out bid" on player B. Thanks again for the help.

The logic of using the previous season rank sucks. Things change every season with retirements/cuts etc. Why does the process not mirror the NFL? I have only tried the waiver pickup a few times and the player was picked up by a team with a better record each time.
