First week of our pre-season and we 100 players taking injuries into next week. Thirty-two teams. Don't know whether that's realistic or not.

Those amount of injuries are within nfl averages , but the amount of total time missed during to injury are much lower . Here If ever injury resulted a player sitting the bench the entirety of healing process (all body parts at 100) perhaps the missed action would be half of the time missed I the nfl. Here half of the injuries heal, to a playable state, quicker than the recommended time. Or the injury doesn't effect the specific positions desired ratings.

The game was made with less serious injuries on purpose . Nfl teams will get a dozen here 3 is a lot . Injuries are moderated by fatigue , conditioning , and currently being injured . Kickers don't get injuries and qbs get less than other skill players . Serious injuries do effect retirement . Serious injuries and concussions sometimes require the player sit, cause he won't get counted on the roster resulting in a game plan reset to default AI.

Version 4.4 requires a more ball control offense to get yards. Imo this would increase chances to get more injuries just by the concept of more offense attempts for longer periods with injury possible calculations would drive up numbers slightly .

OK, I wondered. Don't really have a basis for comparison since, in real life, teams aren't giving out extremely detailed injury reports like we get in a game. And no torn ACL/MCLs in this game - thankfully.

With 4.4, I have 2 teams decimated with OL injuries and 1 team with DL decimated. I have the fatigued settings between 40-45 for all 3 units.

Also, these injuries aren't "green" with 1 or 2 weeks - they are "yellow" and "orange" often for 4+ weeks.

It's just out of line compared to the NFL, and our game doesn't have any practice player roster.

Yeah, not having practice squads is kind of a problem.

Saying it's out of line compared to the NFL doesn't make it true. There are several NFL teams that went much of there season with a large number of their OL or DL out on injury.
PS many NFL players get listed as questionable ("yellow" in MFN) on the weekly injury report and still play throughout the year.

From the limited sample size I've seen in 4.4 - it seems players don't get healthier. The "green" I've played seems to get yellow or worse more than recover. It's a small sample, but that is the trend I am sensing.

Here is what I'm seeing with my teams (all that are in a season of 4.4 & I tend to have fatigue set very low):

1. MFN 23 after week 7:
3 Questionable & 9 Probable
OL: Starting LG, C, RG, & RT all are probable
DL: 2nd & 3rd LDE's questionable and 2nd DL Probable

2. MFN 26 after week 4 (hard to track this team, rebuilding and since game 1 I've released 24 players - many because they weren't good and had serious injuries):
1 Out, 1 Questionable, and 2 Probables
OL: Starting LT questionable, Starting RG Probable
DL: Starting RDE Probable

3. Paydirt Week 1:
1 Doubtful, 5 Questionable, & 3 Probable
OL: Starting C Probable
DL: #1LDE Doubtful, #2LDE Probable, #1 and #2 DL Questionable, #1RDE and #2RDE Questionable

4. DFL Week 13:
1 Doubtful, 3 Questionable, & 5 Probable
OL: #2LT Questionable, #1C Questionable, #1RG Probable, #1RT Probable
DL: #1LDE Questionable, #1DT Doubtful

5. National Football League Week 3:
1 Doubtful, 4 Questionable, 2 Probable
OL: #1LT Probable, #1C Questionable, #1RG Questionable
DL: #3LDE Questionable, #3DT Questionable

*The length of injures seem to be significantly higher
*Maybe it's the way I have my team set up - but I have a low fatigue setting
*Upon reviewing - I am convinced the injury rate and severity is ridiculously high, especially on the OL & DL. In my 4 teams (throwing out the rebuilding team) 11 of 20 starting OL have an injury. And 10 of top 24 DL have an injury. AND only 1 team is past the midway point in the season.

yes, also, the effect of injuries are more severe. Probables are in the 50+, quest below, and doubtful, the dude is a wreck. In 4.3, i used a 55 on the body part or lower as the line to sit a player edit and that was usually a doubtful designation. Probable were 60-65 and up. Currently, after 2 weeks of preseason, I have 14 players with a designation, and only 2 of the 6 probables have an injury above 55 on the 1-100 scale.
I do play in another league, and it switched mid season to 4.4. over 8-9 weeks, injuries and health impact rating were not an issue.
MFN-6 just started preseason, first time through 4.4, and it is crazy.
I have 52 players, and I am having to sign trash to my team for 1 yr contracts just so I can fill my roster.
I have 3rd and 4th string players getting whacked coming in for 1 play - so much for my strategy to only not start #1s the first 2 weeks...
I guess this turned into a rant, my apologies.
My other league just finished it's draft, I am curious if there is a change from what I saw last season (also 4.4).
@JDB, is it possible that in the tweakings, the impact of injuries increased - edit thus increasing the number of designations? Perhaps as a result of changing QB accuracy attribute player weight to parabolic? Just a stab in the dark.

The biggest bummer is I am blowing through cap just to sign players for 2 preseason games. It's likely a very big nail on any chance of a successful season - and will leave very little cap room if any for any future spot signings for injuries during the season.
