Obviously I hit some sort of nerve here. All I said was Roster Only wasnt for me because scoring is low. You told me to check out NFL Extreme because it isnt like that.

I did and scoring is way low, stats prove it. Im not saying, Roster only sucks, dont play it. I clearly stated its not for me.....period.

Honestly it has nothing to do with what I posted really. If I offended you in some way, it was not my intention.

The point of my post was about new versions being beta tested longer before release....thats all. Im glad you enjoy that league. I want everyone to enjoy every league. I cant play this game alone. I need other owners and just dont like losing them.

More often than not, sometimes my posts become snarky .. this is why I need to refrain from posting at work .. lol. For that I apologize ..

The main point of my argument was the scoring point you made, you simply threw out 12-9 FG scoring. Yeah, it was like that. In this version though, the games simply aren't like that at all. Are there some low scoring games? Of course .. Is the scoring better? Yes.

The beauty though of ROs is everyone has to adapt and its not simply by setting a rule. Its personnel moves, and watching how your team is trending statistically.

I just felt you were firing a shot at these leagues by stating the scoring was crappy to harness players for the other 95% of the leagues on here.

I understand it's not a fit for you and others (apparently) .. and that's fine. Play the code .. its cool.

We will sit in our little section of MFN and enjoy watching you all complain about the gameplay/gameplanning ;)

Pass accuracy causes more interceptions at the moment? Wow, that's counter-intuitive.

This was the case at one time, but it is no longer the case. In 0.4.3, the passing algorithm was completely rewritten to make sure that doesn't happen. Now low accuracy will increase your interception rate.

It would be if it be true. But it's nonsense.

Counterexample:

Pass Accuracy 100 -> https://ncaa.myfootballnow.com/player/380

301 pass attempts (from that 126 medium & 12 long) in 10 games and only 4 interceptions.

Side info: 3 picks happened on short passes, 1 on a long pass...

121 pa ,77 comp ,63.6 % ,998yrds ,8.25ypg , 4/35 s/sa, 8td , 2int ,104.63 rating.

These numbers are with long passes called 75% of the time and a 98 accuracy qb. I don't think it's necessarily about short , med., and long distances anymore. To me Thier kinda like 1,3, and 5 step drops. Like the qb doesn't really throw the ball until he sets his feet after he has completed his drop back.

Lately the question for me is where will my recievers be by then and will they be open...vs. the general defense scheme hopefully applied in that senerio. Can/ will my qb make that throw? If he has enough time. ....

My teams not the best for long passes but we've got a strong armed qb , some playmakers, and a decent oline. Not that a defensive can't play the long pass vs. them. I am pretty sure they can get shut down .

As for plays that go for long yards , I think the run after the catch is where you'll see that. Whether it's a 5 to 10 yard slant or a back out of the backfield . Qbs rarely launch it deep (40+ yards ) to the wr 1 or WR2 anymore vs. A deep cover defense.

Arm has never really mattered . Now in my opinion it the second highest valuable qb rating behind accuracy . ...which I raised considerably in comparison to other relevant qb ratings for 4.5. Imo, only accuracy , arm and release matter in 4.5

Everything else is preference as those 3 modify accuracy . Pressure is more often now but it doesn't effect the qb as much. Combine that with qbs not running, and strange end route senerios (when the wrs done with his route he'll run anywhere.) the offense is really hampered compared to the nfl. They'd make smarter decisions . ..all qbs are as mobile as Chis Redman now and you have to play like pocket passers in most senerios because of it.

Simply said a great qb won't throw many interceptions almost under any senerio . Unless you abuse plays. My 3 offensive play 3 defensive play scheme was unstoppable vs. an exposed opponent , but by play 10 the abuse took hold and we gave up a 35 point lead at the half to lose vs. A team who played an 8 man front all game with 30 speed dbs.

Very interesting stats. Could I ask which arm strength your QB has? Because I think you're right that the arm strength is very important now. Maybe not that much on short passes but on medium and especially on long passes.

No matter how you want to hash this out, Going back to 0.4.3 is not the answer.
Progress has been made whether you like it or not. Defenses are playing better coverage than they ever have before. The offense is behind right now.
I know 0.4.6 is going to continue to focus on the passing game. I'm fairly certain that 0.4.6 will not be rushed out to all leagues because of what happened after 0.4.3. I hope that is the case.
As for people leaving the game, it happens. People become frustrated or just need breaks.

I agree in part...043 was bad. But I'd like to see something like an 042 offense with some tweaks to QB reads mixed with 045 defense with some tweaks to lessen the smothering coverage.
045 in its present form isn't the answer either.
And people can holler " It's BETA" till the cows come home and I get that. But the fact is people ARE leaving the game and I know for a fact that some of them quit because the last 3 releases of this BETA have seemed to go off the tracks. Can it be put back on the tracks? Absolutely! But it won't do any good if nobody is here to play.
And I'm not hatin on the game or JDB either...I Love the game. And I think JDB is a freakin genius.... I've been here 4 years, does that sound like I hate the game? I'm not going anywhere.
But I WILL always speak up when I see something I don't think is right.
