Re: Injury Tracker

I'm hoping this thread gets zero comments, other than posts tracking injury progression. Please no debate, we have a thread for that already https://xfl.myfootballnow.com/community/1/5913?page=1.

I'm going to test this theory about playing some questionable players and I want to see how it affects their health and/or performance. I know MFN-1 is supposed to be the test, and I'm not trying to take away from that but I want to track my own.

That's my #1 RB in XFL and I'm going to play him since I'm 4 deep at RB. Game sim won't run for 44 hours so I'll update his status Tuesday morning.

https://xfl.myfootballnow.com/team/26

Fatigue set at 45 for all positions
________________________________________________________________________________

My very next game runs at 8:07 pm and has several probables, which I'll run down in text form:

FB David Fisher ankle 53
WR Matthew Jackson knee 70 leg 78
WR William Williams arm 56
C Kenneth McClellan leg 76 neck 73
DT Jerry Collins neck 73
DT Larry Valentine leg 65
RDE William Rogers foot 73
RDE Spare Tire Dixon knee 67

As of now, my fatigue is set at 42 for all positions for this particular team, idk why such an odd number. I probably won't play all of these guys, and I'll note which ones played/sat after the game.

https://arena.myfootballnow.com/team/14
______________________________________________________________________________

Another sim runs at 9:00 pm and I'll play my stud OL. I also will play my probable LB Coelho whose leg is 57%

This is a roster only league so I can't set fatigue https://ufa.myfootballnow.com/team/5

________________________________________________________________________________

Last one for now is USFL, where I had 5 serious injuries in preseason game 1. I cut one injured OL as he is old and in the last year of his contract who was already on the roster bubble.

https://usflwfl.myfootballnow.com/team/31

I know earlier, I said I'd play everybody but that's BS. I'm not trying to kill the Generals, they're too good a team. I won't play either of the doubtfuls nor Ponyboy Curtis who is questionable. I haven't decided on Johnny Fever's status. He is probable with a 54% leg but I am going to play RG Donald Chambers. He is listed as questionable with a 42% hand and a 67% foot.

This one is/was set at 50 for all positions with starters pulled at halftime.

I know you just don't want comments with contention. I'll just toss a quick thing in here. I believe 'arm' is the one body part injury you could get away with via an RB. Hand = fumbles and lower body parts of course plod the running. Interested to see if you get him through the game.

Yeah, after 10 hours of work, poor choice of words on my part. I would actually welcome anyone else who wants to track their injuries in this fashion to post here. The more teams/people that do, the more actual data we'll have.

It can even be just a summary of your team's health if you don't have time for details. I just don't want to get into any back and forth debates here when there is already a place for that.

One player in particular I want to point out is Spare Tire Dixon https://arena.myfootballnow.com/player/6046. When on the field, he is a beast but he's a rookie who has had 3 injuries already, an ankle in the preseason, a foot and a knee. He is listed as probable but I'm debating whether to start or sit.

If I play this wrong I could derail a potential HOF career, so I've been treating him with kid gloves.

Sub-70 knee. nods Protect him. I feel a serious injury popping up if you activated him for this game.

I could put many teams here but will do one, don't want my friend greg to feal like the lone ranger! Week 8 for this team, tied at top of division, in order to have 46 active for the game,
we have to play #1LDE with ankel at 60 and #2 DT with knee at 59! Why, because backups
are out longer, we will see!

I agree with Smirt on the RB. I have noticed that playing RB's with hand or arm injuries doesn't seem to hamper their running, but they are more probable to fumbling the ball.

Curious to see how it works out.

Good luck!

It's a great idea Greg. I have a perfect league to use this in for me. They are already my experimental team in the NFL league. I won't be able to add data for them till the 2nd week of September because the league is currently in the League Championship midweek spin.

The best part of using this league is I will play all the injured players and track the results because I'm not competing for a title anytime soon.

In other leagues I'm only playing these injured players

Monsters of the Midway
Murder Mayhem FS1 P1 hand 61

League of Legends
Faustino Lay FB1/TE2 P2 foot 66
Santos Wright LT2/RT2 P3 ankle 71

Galactic Syndicate
Tom Clouser RT3/C4/LT5 P2 foot 74
Albert Hicks FS2/SS3 P1 hand 67

Not much as far as starters with injuries but I have avoided playing injured players to the point of being overly cautious. I wont play anybody injured if I have any type of depth at the position and the opponent isnt considered elite by me or the game isnt a must win.

It that respect, I do the complete opposite of what JDB says and rest most injured players even as little as probable 3. My theory has always been an injured player is more vulnerable to increased injury when playing injured and if the game is a game I should win anyway, I can win with my backup filling that role.

When I am put into the position of playing injured players because I have reached over 7 injuries, I will bury the injured player on the depth chart to limit his snaps. On the rare occasions when I've had to activate someone above P3 to reach the minimum to field a team, I will place that player at QB3 so he doesnt see a snap and remove him completely from the rest of the depth chart.

It's a super cautious method of handling injuries but has served me well over many seasons. If the game is against an elite opponent and will decide seeding or winning a division or a playoff game then I relax my self imposed restrictions somewhat but even then I prefer healthy players and must decide if the injured player is better then the healthy option.

I had a similar philosophy regarding playing injured players, even the burying injured players at the bottom of the depth chart part. That's why I want to track this, it's a complete 180 from what I've been doing.

This was the pregame injury report for the Cincinnati Rockers.

FB David Fisher ankle 53
WR Matthew Jackson knee 70 leg 78
WR William Williams arm 56
C Kenneth McClellan leg 76 neck 73
DT Jerry Collins neck 73
DT Larry Valentine leg 65
RDE William Rogers foot 73
RDE Spare Tire Dixon knee 67

I did not play the following: (new injury status postgame)

WR Matthew Jackson knee 76 leg 83
DT Larry Valentine leg 73
RDE Spare Tire Dixon knee 77

The 5 who played:

FB David Fisher (49 snaps) ankle 66
WR William Williams (63 snaps) arm 78
C Kenneth McClellan (71 snaps) leg 73 neck 85
DT Jerry Collins (50 snaps) knee 81 neck 87
RDE William Rogers (60 snaps) foot 87

I also had 5 additional players become probable during the game.
___________________________________________________________________

Roster only I started 2 injured players. From the pic in an earlier post, his foot was 49%. It "improved" to 56 but his foot went from 100 to 59, so he's the first one to really suffer.

Coelho's leg went from 57 to 68.

Picked up 4 additional probables and 1 questionable during the game.

USFL won't run for a couple hours. I'll come back and edit unless it's tomorrow before I get to it.
