Is there a guide available?

New to the game. Looks great. I am starting to learn. I have two teams. One team is in week two. For this one I set depth chart and gameplans. Other league is right before draft. I need some help understanding cap and roster management. I think I understand how to gameplan. Not well but I understand how to do it. Any place for guides or can anyone help? Is there a discord channel?

Kind Regards,

BH

Hey.

On phone, so can't give you specifics.

There is two Discord servers I think. Think Tank and the one I'm in. Not sure what the one I'm in is actually called.

There's a lot of well written guides to help you understand the aspects of this game. Most important is adjust your player weights to match the game engine we're on (4.5). The default ratings are mostly useless if you want to be competitive. I'm using a slightly changed version of setherick's weights. I'm sure you'll be able to find them in a sticky somewhere.

Regarding gameplanning and selecting plays, there's also guides for that. I can't remember the name, but the 3rd category in community forum I think there's a post with pinned messages that should help you.

I'll get back to you when I get home if nobody else has answerred. :)

Getting started guide https://www.myfootballnow.com/getting-started?subdomain=cust79

Official blog http://blog.myfootballnow.com/ Hasn't been updated in 5 years but it should answer some of your questions. Good luck to you.

I really appreciated this post by Booger, picking up guides from all over the game. :)

Some of it is most likely at least somewhat outdated, but it still gives you ideas as to how the gameengine works or have worked.

I would just suggest that being in the same boat and the need for new players. Some people with the knowledge should do a NEW guide that fits for the current game/engine. A LOT of effort for NEW players to get just the basics based on ALL the information on the forum out of date.

It's a lot OF effort to learn all THE mechanics and nuance EVEN if all the guides are CURRENT

Yes it is, But when you look at thru the eyes of a brand NEW player is it worth the effort based on the other computer MMO games available? Having someone with knowledge clean up the forums would be a big help. IMO.

The ONLY way I FIGURED out things as a NEW player was SCOURING the FORUMS by KEYWORD for the things I wanted to FIND out

I'm a new player but drastically improved my team in a single season, most players are actually not super try-hard experts so it wasn't hard to become an above average player relatively quickly. Even the years-old information is all very valuable and informed my decisions for the current 0.4.5 system.
