I was away from this game for nearly two years.
It's amazing to me (and pretty disappointing) to see how basically nothing has changed.
The draft classes ****.
There are literally NO new features (that I've seen).
Position related skills seem to still have NO impact on a player's performance.
etc, etc.

As it was way back then, speed is the only thing that matters. The only way to get speed at the important positions is to get very lucky in the draft, or pay outrageous amounts to a FA that becomes available because the team is managed by the AI or a non-active owner.

It actually has become much easier to succeed if you completely sell out towards speed....players with +90 speed but overall ratings in the 30s 40s and 50s are available via the draft and free agency and they outperform 70s and 80s rated players with positional attributes but no speed.

I've watched certain owners dominant with garbage (first glance) rosters full of WRs and CBS.

Example.....

Find an 80 speed LDE....change him to a CB....he loses a ton of weight....nears 90 speed....and there is your starting MLB....ETC ETC ETC

Things like that are why I left MFN in the first place.

I want to play a football sim, not find ways to exploit a football sim. I'd rather lose than have to resort to exploiting this game's flaws.

I've never understood why JDB doesn't seem interested in making any meaningful changes/improvements to this game.

There should be limits to how much weight a player can shift from their initial draft base...180 lb wr don’t just become lineman, and while I know veteran nfl lineman that lose 100 lbs after they retire, it’s not like they all do, or would be successful in a skill position.

It also might make a manager feel smart for “gaming the system” by converting positions based on speed, but obviously the nature of a gamer community exposing a “glitch” like that just makes it common practice for everyone to exploit it. Just like the flanker hitch or hb flare passes exposing the holes in defensive AI...these things deviate from the “realism” a simulation should strive to attain and create a division of owners who are ok with strategies vs those who are not.

There is. It's +/- 50 pounds. But that's enough to shift most positions:

DL > LB
LB > DB
TE > WR/RB
FB/RB > WR

There are leagues with custom rules for roster minimums and minimum weights but unless you have a strong league admin monitoring everything...its impossible to police everyone in every league....
