The problem with the game right now is that it caters to no one. Which in some ways is fine because it's completely free, and there isn't a target audience, but it also means that no matter your play style, it's not complete.

Casual players cannot plug and play easily. The default playbooks are horrible. The default playcalling is worse. And the default weights don't match what you need to be successful.

Game planners and hardcore sim players are too limited. There is no play creation. The playbooks are super limited. You are limited in the number of plays you can use. And you CANNOT choose SPECIFIC plays to call in a given situation. The rule override system is wonky. The depth chart is worse.

I agree with Admiral...keep both versions as an option.

My point was any new players/owners that join will most likely quit if they can't pass for more then 200 yards a game.

It's a game after all....at least I think so. Having the option to make leagues use Beta gives everyone the option.

I'm not worried about myself...I'm worried about keeping my leagues full.

Admiral is having success with his Beta leagues and others are having success with 4.5.

Right now we have the best of both worlds...why change just for change sake.

I'm gonna join a Admiral run Beta league if he will have me so I can have a more insightful opinion.

I'll put you on the waitlist as both are full right now (3rd on list for Victory, 1st in Legends)

I've been watching this thread from the sidelines, and I don't get all the angst. Choices are good and I have tried both versions. Neither one is perfect, but I absolutely hate Beta in it's current form. I had put together what I thought was a pretty good offensive team, but they couldn't throw the ball. Beta is much better than roster only, that's hot garbage imo.

Just because I hate Beta does not mean nobody should use it, it's just a version I prefer not to play. The more options we have the better. Maybe we could get to a point where we have slide meters, like the injury meter, where we could "turn up" the offense, or "turn it down" to whatever suits the need of a particular league of owners.

JDB is never going to satisfy everyone, so maybe league options is the way to go?

But let us forget the 8 blocks and 8 sacks a game just because you can create league rules. All your points are correct except that. I cannot forget. Really the reason that stuff happens in the first place is the code of 4.5 and previous. Years of exploitable gamesthat finally came to a head.

All I am saying Is that game wide exploits tied to the 4.6 changes , not just sacks and punt blocks, are not a part of 4.6. Funny as I voted not to release it but again it **** on me time. Its ok no hard feelings . We face each other on The imaginary field oor not it doesn’t really matter. Making a stable game does and 4.6 is more stable than 4.5

I've always had a complicated view of JDB. We are all grateful he gave us this game, which we can mostly play for free. But when he can't even code power rankings right, refuses to acknowledge his mistakes, misplaces his focus, and disappears for months on end, why should we have faith that he is capable of making things better?

That's why people are leaving — 4.6 is just the latest evidence that we're wasting our time.

He made no attempt to fix the worst problems with 4.5: irrational distribution of speed across positions, broken passing/receiving/coverage that is mostly limited to backside slants and backfield dumpoffs and how long your CB can jam a WR in place before he streaks past, limited playbooks with poorly designed plays, and massive mismanagement by CPU teams that wreck leagues.

He mercifully nerfed punt blocks in 4.6. But he also amped up the running game to hysterical levels, somehow made the passing game worse, sent sacks through the roof and neutralized speed across all players.

After presented with the obvious failings of 4.6 more than a year ago, with film and stats as evidence in the mfn1 forums, he apparently abandoned efforts to improve the game and pivoted to UI upgrades instead. Will these unspecified UI improvements make gameplanning easier or introduce the very basic feature of filtered search results? Place your bets ...
