Is this true for WR also ie if a WR has good pass blocking he makes more catches? same with TE and FB?

Secondary attributes play a much bigger role in 4.6 across the board, theoreticatically pass blocking should have little or no impact for catching passes - maybe this is how JDB has coded the game to try and keep the 4.5 passing game in check, if so then it needs to be eased or removed. In the meantime, maybe converting quick running backs/full backs and tight ends to wide receiver may be the way forward - provided they have pass catching and pass blocking ability.

If I’m understanding what Setherick wrote properly, then wouldn’t it be offensive skill players with poor pass blocking that catch more passes.

But on a side note, don’t the play calls themselves determine wether a rb blocks or runs a route, I haven’t exactly noticed any “chip and run” diagrams

On the Flare, the HB runs a designed wheel route to the right side flat. However, when a team blitzes, I have seen the HB abandon the route on a number of plays to pick up the blitz. I've seen this on other plays as well like the 203 FL Post.

This only started happening in 4.6.

Intelligence is whether they pick up the blitz or not.

I looked at the tape you linked to and it looked to me like the back just got caught up in the backfield traffic caused by the blitz. I could be wrong...

The RB has 47 intelligence and 25 pass blocking.

His speed/acceleration combo would've made him a good player in 4.5 because there were few sacks. The code change makes him a liability as he offers little or no protection if asked to block.

Theoretically, this leads to the ball being released early and leads to the drop as it doesn't meet the ridiculously small margin of error for catching a deep pass.

You missed the point. The rb isn't supposed to block on the play at all.

Call this defensive exploit 1: blitz all plays that have the running back run a route to shut down running back passes.

Unless it was just his low intelligence meant he got his assignment wrong?
