EDIT: And this shouldn't apply to owners that used paid for credits. I would HATE to have paid to join a league, then something happens where I can't log in for a while, only to return and find out my team had been taken away from me.

Maybe it only applies then to players who have <= 5 credits in their account, period?

Maybe add a "On Vacation" or "Out" button on the team Owner Card?

I see that we have already added 2 new Owners (WELCOME ABOARD TO THEM!!!).

Maybe it will re-load, I sure hope so! It is a good league tho! Some teams just need a little work, time and dedication. That all it takes!!!

I don't think I've ever been in a league that wasn't nearly half empty as soon as it rolled over to the next season. However, they're usually full by the time the season starts.

I took over a team half way through the season in Cust 33. Am in the playoffs and have renewed for next season but I know now I'm not continuing with them at EOS. War Eagle has built a team of 90/100 rated potential players and its just not worth the effort. I won't be taking over any more teams after the draft has been done.

Cust 22 has just ended its 2nd season and had 8 players left. A new one has joined so now totals 9.

As an FYI, I took part in the allocation draft for CUST-33. I drafted based on the strategy I wanted to use. It's not my fault (and I've complained about this) that the AI doesn't know how to draft well.

Also, I have not made a single trade in CUST-33.

So, I did not do anything in this league that any other owner could not have done themselves.

Your post seems like you are implying I did something wrong. I'll just assume I am misunderstanding what you are saying.

Totally agree with WarEagle, he didnt do anything wrong. This is why new leagues started to require 50% of teams to be filled before allocation draft is conducted. You cant blame him for the way he drafted or should he be punished for following the rules at the time. Do i think the league is still salvageable, yes but it will take time, just needs owners committed with patience and not expect instant success is all. I joined that league as a challenge honestly already with that knowledge of how his roster was. Maybe with some adjustments to contracts and after a few seasons he wont be able to afford all that talent. Patience is all.

I said it in another topic but I have been around a while, I am in a lot of leagues and have had a lot of success honestly and I havnt done it with any major tactics at all. I give help to anyone that asks me for it and its really basic knowledge honestly. I just dont over thing strategies. Build to your HC strengths is the main thing. Speed kills both on Offense and Defense, You need a great Kicker and an above average Returner. Play your starters at 70-75 before substituting them. Try and build ST with your bench as much as possible. Dont sign playes that will be in league 9+ years to big bonus or long term contracts. Like I said fairly basic stuff

I agree that we're not going to see a new league auto-created any time soon. I had at one point previously only shown the most-filled leagues on the league finder, if a league is below 25% for I think 4 weeks before starting a season then it is automatically deleted, and a few leagues were purged that way - but then the existing leagues filled up and of course we don't want there to be zero leagues to choose from for a new user.

Maybe one possible solution would be to auto-remove any user who hasn't logged in for, say, 14 days, instead of waiting until the end of the season. That would open up the spots faster in leagues where players are less committed. Then, combine that with going back to only showing the leagues with the fewest openings and we might see some of the more dead leagues start to drop off. Would 14 days be too short for some of you more dedicated players who have had to take an extended absence because of some life events?

If its at 14 then I would also suggest adding a vacation tab so the owner can click just in case he might be away for a couple weeks enjoying life but only have this option available to them once every 3-4 seasons in league. This way he can stay safe from deletion for that one time option

Saw this was suggested already, was just replying as I read things ...lol

You are misunderstanding. My post doesn't imply anything. It just states the fact that you have those players and I don't see the point in staying in the league.

I think one of the problem is that the game have a steep learning curve and the allocation draft is just too complicated for a new comer to handle properly as it is his first step in the game; then after he acquire some experience, he realise how screw he is compare to other team and get demotivated and finally drop his team by the end of the first season.

Features that mislead players during the allocation draft include (imo):
- The auto-draft chart is misleading on what type of player you should select
- The position experience and conditioning plummet the current overall grade of young players compare to veterans. Though, those stat will probably be in the 90’s early in the regular seasons for future starters.
- Poor grade in one category doesn’t mean the player is not capable to perform but he will perform to a minimum standard. For example, 00 in max speed doesn’t mean the player is immobile and isn’t a red flag for linemen and even QB.
- Grades are not intrinsic of the performance in the field you have to take into account physical attributes such as weight to actually predict the performance of the player.

And I am pretty sure I miss some important points there by lack of complete understanding of the game mechanic.

Maybe creating “rookie GM” league with specific features and alerts, and which would work like a tutorial, might help new players to getting started before taking the big dive in an allocation draft.

Great idea. Conversely, how about creating a league for experienced/successful GMs only?

This idea intrigues me, what would you consider to be a good set of qualifiers? My biggest concern is the potential for not as many GMs to qualify and thus the league would have difficulty filling up, but perhaps the promise of playing with a more dedicated set of players would overcome that.
