Do both teams have the same trade bar when only trading draft picks only? I would think so ..

I would think so also. My point is that the value I place on a pick may be different than what you think, regardless of what the trade bar shows.

Agreed. I just knew through the settings you could "tell" it the value you put on the players and that differs the trade bar for each owner. I figured if it was a draft pick exchange it would mirror exactly ... I didnt mean to divert from the discussion ... sorry

The way it actually works is the draft picks are mapped to a value, and the players are mapped to a value - you can control how the players map for your view by changing the weights, but there is also a position-dependent weight (i.e. a 90-rated QB is evaluated a having far more value than a 100-rated punter, but you have control over what a 90-rated QB is)

Something that seems to be forgotten is that a top team will lose a lot less by trading a 1st round pick than a team at the bottom who will get first pick of the draft.

War Eagle won the league in Cust 33 so he is giving up far less value in trading a 1st round pick than the 32nd placed team. I'd be giving up less value in Fake Pigskin league where I lost in the final than San Diego who pick first.

All draft picks are not equal.

Thats not what I am saying. Lets say you and I trading draft picks only ... you have the first overall. and I want it. trade bar (on my end) is dead center on me giving up my first, second. Would it not be dead center on yours as well? Because for each owner the draft value is already established?

OR

my Team is in dire need of a QB ... there is a stud in the draft .. you have the first overall. Is my offer going to now place a higher value on that #1 making me give up more to dead center the trade bar so I can get my QB?

Yes, the pick order (if it is set) changes the value of each pick. If the pick order is not set, it uses a much rougher value based on where you picked the previous year. Both teams will see the same bar in this case.

The AI doesn't consider any subjective value like this, your team need, etc, and as such the bar should always be a guide not the absolute truth. You might be willing to take a lopsided trade in this situation and your trading partner may not be willing to give up a lopsided trade in this situation (if he wants the QB as well) - the bar is designed to be an objective guide to the player value (and to prevent overly lopsided trades), but you are responsible to consider the subjective value of the trade.
