Hi MFN-community,


I created the official German Football League, with all currently playing teams at:

http://gfl.myfootballnow.com



All official German teams of the current season, playing in the GFL-1 and GFL-2 have been added.
They do have the official logos and best matching helmets/jerseys, as the original franchises have.

League Settings:
- Sim Time: UTC 10 AM (German Friendly)
- Early Free Agency Weeks: 4
- Late Free Agency Weeks: 2
- Preseason Games: 4
- Management Style: Normal
- Unbalanced Trades: Blocked
- Allow Any Names/Numbers: Yes

This is mainly (but not only) for German speaking players here, or for players, who are interesed in getting to know some more about the German Football culture, which is having a big push in the last few years and is about to grow even more.

I would really appreciate, if you join the league and invite other players, who could be interested in playing a German league.
The draft will be delayed, until the league is filled.

Will the teams also have edited original jerseys/helmets? And I think you should rename the München Cowboys and the Köln Crocodiles to Munich Cowboys and Cologne Crocodiles because they use iRL the english speaking city names, too.

I still consider which team I'll take over.

Aber schön zu sehen, dass ich hier bei MFN doch nicht der einzige deutschsprachige User bin. :) (But nice to see that I'm not the only German-speaking user at MFN.)

Right now you still have plenty of options. :)

I tried to edit the helmets and jerseys as much to the original as I could get them.
But I am still open for suggestions anytime, tough, regarding changes to the teams.

Regarding Munich an Cologne, you're absolutely right.
I just wanted to avoid cunfusion in the beginning, for everyone, who is not so well informed about GFL circumstances, yet.
But will consider renaming them to their original English names, later.

P.S.: Jetzt wären wir schon zu dritt (bzw. zu fünft, wenn meine beiden Football-begeisterten Brüder sich auch noch bequemt haben, sich anzumelden)

Great idea. Germany is by far & away the most advanced Country in the EU relative to American Football.

I have chosen the team I refereed a few times in real life :)

True! And it keeps getting more famous every year... Its a good option for former NFL candidates, that couldn't make it to a NFL roster or just into a practise squad, to earn more experience. The only thing is, that they don't earn nearly as much as in the NFL, because there is not such a big market for the sport, yet.

Anyway, the current starting QB of the "Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns", Jadrian Clark, for example is from Tennessee and came to Germany to play professional football, as he couldn't make it into a roster in the states. And he's one of the best in the league so far.

The other way round, sometimes players from the German teams, manage to get a spot in a roster or practise squad of an NFL team, thanks to the international pathway program.
