Edit: Personally I would like to see a restriction on the amount of trade "offers" that can be made by a team. Right now in a lot of leagues there are players(nonames) who just send out mass offers hoping someone will accept.. they don't even bother to look at your roster to see if it would make sense. If you were restricted to making say, 10 offers total, you would have to put a lot more time and conversation into trading. You might have to save a few offers for the regular season to counter injuries and such, ya know strategy etc.. which is better for MFN.

I completely disagree with this and let me explain why.

If you take over a bad or you are simply starting a rebuild project with an aging team.....you need to be proactive! Simply clicking the trade block box doesnt always bring in a single offer.

I've used the following strategy with a ton of success. Let's say I have 4 players I would like to move...I send out offers to all the owners in the league with an attached PM stating that I'm looking to move these players, this offer is just a beginning stage of negotiation. If you have any interest in any of these players send me a counter offer.

I compare it to picking up the phone and calling all the GMs to see if there is any interest. It works and I dont have to go through every teams roster to see if my player fits on their team.

I never understood the anger that recieving a trade offer can incur. No owner should ever except an intial offer unless it completely blows you away. With a few exceptions, the art of negotiation is dead in this game. There is nothing better then sending and recieving multiple counters with an owner until you reach the deal.

Predatory trading is a problem with this game for sure but when I receive a horrible trade offer....I typically send a PM saying how bad this trade offer is and why along with a reasonable counter offer if the player offered is worth anything.

If you are new to this game or simply unsure about a trade offer....seek a 2nd opinion from someone else. Typically the admin of a league is a good place to seek help or find someone else in the game you have talked to. I've personally helped dozens of owners who have asked my opinion on a trade, even for leagues I'm not a part of.

NEVER GIVE UP A 1ST OR 2ND FOR ANYONE OVER HIS 5TH SEASON.

MAKE SURE THE PLAYER ISNT A FREE AGENT AFTER THE CURRENT SEASON BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED THE CAP SPACE TO RESIGN HIM
