2032 EAGER EIGHT

With much anticipation, we’ve come to the 2032 NFL Eager Eight. Everything kicks off Saturday in Pittsburgh (trslick), with Denver (rexrob3) narrowly escaping the field goal battle 15-12 versus Houston (dfisherman) last week. Pitt, third in the league with 475 points scored (29.68/game) and fronted by QB Carlton Conway’s 4,161 yards, are heavily favored to advance to their third straight conference championship game.
The afternoon game brings us #2 Jacksonville (-8) at home against Miami (Schultze). Jacksonville, in the playoffs for only the third time in their 15 year history, led the league in penalties and the game was expected to be brutal. Miami head coach Maurice Genovese has brought in MMA Jujitsu-Fu Grandmaster Chex Juan to assist the defensive line. “All I will say,” Chex said, “is that there will be shins.”

Over in the National Conference, Sunday’s early game brings us Minnesota (Gackman) trying to get past Albuquerque (CrazySexyBeast) at The Kiva. Albuquerque, favored by 10, led the league in points (679), Yards from scrimmage (542.7), and sacks per game (2.1) among other categories. Local burger Chain Blake’s Lotaburger has offered a free green chili cheeseburger and a small shake if the Nukes beat the spread.
The final game of the weekend has Tampa bay, who flew by San Francisco (pparrish1622) 24-6 last week, travelling to Philadelphia (vcr5150). #1 seeded Philly is hoping to find it’s way back to the Crown Showdown, after failing to make it past the Dark Horses of Destiny in 2031. Led by WR Brock Court (58rec, 1286 yds, 19TD) and the league's best rushing game, Philly is expected to succeed.

2032 NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE CROWN SHOWDOWN

We have arrived at the final game of the season, the 2032 Crown Showdown. Teams and fans are at the still secret location, and the game kicks off Sunday at 4:20 MST.

Representing the American Conference will be Pittsburgh (trslick), who found their way to the championship game by defeating Denver (rexrob3) 23-16 (BOX:https://vikings.myfootballnow.com/box/4989) and escaping at home against Miami (Schultzie) 26-20 in the Furious Four (BOX:https://vikings.myfootballnow.com/box/4993).

Philadelphia (vcr5150), after crushing Tampa Bay (available!) 23-3 in the Eager Eight (BOX:https://vikings.myfootballnow.com/box/4991), found themselves in overtime 24-24 against the Albuquerque Nukes (CrazySexyBeast) in the final game of the Furious Four weekend. After winning the overtime coin toss, Philly methodically worked its way down the field to a successful, and game winning 39 yard FG after ALB failed on the final possession of the National Conference title game (BOX:https://vikings.myfootballnow.com/box/4994).

Which brings us to what we really want to gamble on: Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia (-6).
Location: Unknown. Maximum attendance: Unknown. However, the NFL doubled Crown Showdown Ticket profits by selling virtual seats now available via ABBAtars(c) which were developed by Lucasfilm/Disney's Industrial Light and Magic - that enable the end user to experience a virtual 3-D reproduction of the live game experience at home (and for twice the live game price, too!) through META(™) virtual ocular products.

Philly’s offense, led by WR James Schaefer's 6.1 ypc for 269 post-season rushing yards and WR Cooper Cavenaugh’s dazzling 16.1 yards per catch playoff average coupled with his 8 REC/122 yard/2 TD “experience” against ALB in the Furious Four, has been working hard to give reps to their defense as Pittsburgh has not been an offensive slouch throughout the playoffs.

Pittsburgh, under the helm of 8 year veteran QB Carlton Conway (who previously won a Crown in 2023 - his rookie season) and special teams specialist WR John McBride's 44 yards per game postseason kick return average (697 total return yards in the regular season), look to control field position by digging in and bulldogging between the hash marks.

Though the line predicts this to be a close championship, the betters are favoring Philadelphia. As the proletariat are confined to wagering the remnants of change leftover in the world's artisan fountains after the Great Coin Shortage of 2020, the elite are laughingly wagering millions in Shiba Inu crypto and Blue Oyster Cult NFTs. Rumor has it Jeff Bezos wagered the blueprints for his now under construction private space station against Elon Musk’s $6 billion share ownership of Tesla Motors. Mr. Musk, well known for his sporadic behavior, also recently gambled his Tesla ownership against the UN’s ability and plans to solve world hunger.

If nothing else, Sunday’s Midnight running of TMZ should be spectacular viewing.

PHILADELPHIA WINS 2032 NFL CROWN SHOWDOWN!

It was a chilly 56F day in Miami as the NFL’s best faced off in the 2032 NFL Crown Showdown before a sold-out crowd of 75,192. 15-1 Pittsburgh (trslick), returning to the Showdown for an astounding 4th consecutive season found themselves yet again the underdog to the National Conference’s 15-1 Philadelphia (-6) (vcr5150).

After winning the flip and choosing to start the game with the ball, Philly looked punishing as they worked down the field behind WR James Schaffer. Determined to win, head coach Kurtis Buckles grabbed his first biscuit early in the drive on a 4th and 1 3 yard run from their own 45 (https://vikings.myfootballnow.com/watch/4995#853019). Later in the drive, their first and the first possession of the game, Buckles again leaned on RB Thomas Newbill for the first down on a 4-1 FB Dive play from Pittsburgh’s 11 (https://vikings.myfootballnow.com/watch/4995#853031) 4 plays later Philly was in the endzone for the first score of the game, taking a 7-0 lead with 4:08 remaining in the first quarter.

From there, the game quickly settled into a game of futility, a fumble, and a missed field goal as both teams seemed content to sit in the passenger seat instead of driving for the title. The game went into the 90 minute superstar halftime show (sponsored by the taxpayers of the state of Florida and featuring Little Willie and the P Street Brandos) 10-0, Philadelphia.

Following Little Willie’s surprise bombshell tribute to Yanni and John Tesh, Pittsburgh came out sluggish and quickly went 3 and out with a -1 yard drive. Pitt QB Carlton Conway later reflected: “Perhaps having raw egg, habanero and avocado based chocolate smoothies was a poor choice for the team to overindulge in. I myself had 6. They were so **** tasty, bro. ...Oddly so.”

Philadelphia's next drive proved to be the game-sealing dagger as their time consuming 6 play/65 yd drive (5 straight runs) put another 7 points on the scoreboard.

Not to be deterred, facing the impossible odds of the blue tented porta-potty becoming a merry-go-round of gluteus maximus proportions and a gut-clenching offensive line, Pittsburgh finally put together a successful drive. Starting from their own 25, Conway completed an 11 yd pass to WR David Kephart out of the I formation. Showing true glimpses of his regular season efficiency, the QB popped off 5 more completions as HC Lance Waid peppered in some runs through the gaps into the offensive gameplan. 8 plays and 75 yards later, Pittsburgh finally found themselves with points on the board (https://vikings.myfootballnow.com/watch/4995#853105).

That turned out to be the last glimmer of hope in the fading sunset of Pittsburgh’s season. Even though Pitt’s D stepped up on the league’s biggest stage like skinny Hugh Jackson clutching an auto-tuner - holding Philly to 57 total yards for the remainder of the game - the offensive act was officially over.
